The last time I was actively involved with narrow gauge railroads had to be early to mid 80’s. I did some model railroading, but never got too far with anything. Finally sold all of my railroad related items (books, models etc) except for my collection of postcards that followed the C&S... Originally I’d thought I’d find a few old postcards portraying the Georgetown Loop. Four dozen postcards later of just the loop and I was still finding them. That was many years ago before I moved out of Colorado. I’d made two binders of postcards arranged in an order that followed the C&S route… Now several moves later I find your videos on the C& S and I’m thinking about railroads again. Yes I’m older, but I still remember the places my dad and I visited in the mid 70’s chasing the narrow gauge lines; Ridgeway, Telluride, Vance Junction, Durango, Central City, Idaho Springs, Georgetown, Silver Plume, Jefferson, Como, Breckinridge, Leadville and many more… Just this morning I discovered that the old Como roundhouse and depot are being restored. This just makes me so happy as I love that area and it’s history… Several times over the past almost fifty years I’ve thought I’d create a book of my postcard collection, alas it’s never come to fruition. Perhaps watching more of your excellent videos I’ll become enthused enough to do something about that book… Thank you for taking the time to put these videos together. I know it’s a lot of work, but it’s also much appreciated.

Thanks so much for your encouragement. I'm so glad you enjoy and appreciate the videos. I'm also glad they've brought back so many good memories. If you ever put the postcard book together, I'd love to see it!

Hopefully, the Central City Railroad & Mining Museum will restore Combine #20 and 2-8-0 #71 to operational condition!

@@searchingforthecsnarrowgau8853 I tried contacting them by Gmail, and their website, but they haven’t replied yet! So, I went with another option, a physical letter! I sent it about a week ago and I’m hoping I’ll get a reply sooner or later!

Also, I did actually went on a trip to Colorado about 2 months ago and I stopped in Central City to see what progress has been made! There was nobody by the depot, but I did see the track that had been laid, as well as more rails and ties on top of those tracks! So, they might be laying some more track! I also went and saw C&S #20 & C&S #71, and I learned that her headlight turns on in the evenings! I also saw C&S #60 in Idaho Springs (one of her marker light lenses is missing!), as well as C&S #70, #911, #13, & #76 at Silver Plume!

@@trainlandia697 About a year or two ago, I did a blog post highlighting their plans and I also respectfully mentioned some concerns others had about the project, based on what happened with the 1987-1989 line. They sent me an email saying they would be happy to answer any questions. So I emailed them back with the questions and then I never heard back. It's a bummer. Some of us would be very excited to see them succeed, but it's just hard to tell what is going on.
