C&O Canal Trail: 185-Mile Adventure Through History and Nature
A full ride of the C&O Canal Trail from Cumberland, MD, to Washington, DC. I took the Amtrak train from Washington, DC, to Cumberland, MD, and then followed the C&O Canal Trail along the Potomac River back to DC within 3 days.

Yahoo Thomas. Another long cycling adventure! Please don't run-over geese/ducks..haha The road seems to smooth and nice to see the water on the side...You got speed! Hwo fast are you riding??? 8:33 I enjoy your footage from different angles. How many mount do you use? OMGoodness, Your flawless documentation is outstanding. wow What? something wrong with your Gopro? Maybe heat? When I kayak in FL, often they shut off itself. I do enjoy this trail 21:10 lovely 21:46 The sunlight leaking through the threes are delightful to watch.. haha doe and fawn are cute Wildlife encounter is always exciting to see wow Indeed, awesome 25:29 How many miles a day are you planning to bike? @@ms.kayak7seas thank you for this long detailed comment that covers everything, much appreciated 😊 I usually try to keep 15-16 miles an hour and ride around 60-70 miles a day depending on the surface.
Shepherdstown is a beautiful town, with grocery store and laundromat. Backpackers ❤ Shepherdstown.

I backpacked and bike toured this trail many times. It has excellent bird watching and fishing spots. Camped at most the campsites. Thanks for posting.

I agree it's a great trail. I haven't specifically birded there but I can see that it's an excellent area for birding. I have rode this trail three times. 👍
It looks like a nice trail. The mud looks deep in some spots. I love following your bike adventures! Thank you for the tour!

C&O Canal Trail is one of those epic trails in the US. Lots of history and beautiful nature. I keep going back there year by year. This was my third or fourth time riding it and I'm sure that next year I'm gonna be back there. 👍

The C&O Canals trail is 185 miles long and follows the Potomac River. Lots of history and nature wonderland.

It really is an enjoyable trail to ride on sunny days but in rain it can get some places a little muddy.
I rode thru Paw Paw tunnel. Bring a headlight 🔦.

The C&O is great. Thanks for sharing. We are cycling near Quebec City for a couple of months. You might want to put it on your list. Canada has some great cycling and Via Rail.

I don't think there are any bears but who knows maybe, it's crossing the AT and Appalachian trail has bears
