Hello again,
As it turned out, my previous upload just wasn't fast enough, placing at 2nd place on Speedrun.com! I decided to take a look at the number one run (held by Iluhan) and modified my own by adding firehawks - specifically 8 of them - to destroy the Nod MCV. I managed to shave another 50 seconds off of my run time. This should place me in the number 1 spot this time! :)
In the previous run I used the commando to destroy the Nod MCV, after the Scrin Control Nod, jumping across the Red Zone landscape. The cooldown on the commando's jump ability and the threats in the Nod base resulted in a lot of downtime. By using the firehawks to destroy the base, I took all of those elements out. I pathed the commando through the Scrin base as before. The Nod aircraft abilities remained a potential threat, as well as both factions responding after I destroy the Nod Disruption Towers. It was therefore imperative that I take the Scrin Superweapon, then kill the Distruption towers and ~immediately kill the Control Node, before my rearmed Firehawks could destroy the Nod MCV.
Nod then always attacked my base.
I therefore put my Tech Centre to the North, alongside an empty airfield, in the hope that any Nod attacks would spare my Firehawks. That is if they were still on the ground of course (my forces from the West could be a little slow sometimes).

the commando play is so impressive. he flies everywhere, survives and obliterates every scrin stronghold.
That level if gameplay was so satisfying to watch!

That was seriously impressive, very nicely done indeed!

Well, my total playtime is 271.1 hours at present, so it's a lot of practice. To prepare I just watched the previous World Record, studied their tactics, and thought about the best (and fastest) way to complete the mission. There probably is a guide out there, but briefly what I am doing is: 1) Taking out the power for Scrin with the commando and killing structures to level him so that he is tougher and self-heals. When the power is down he can destroy the Scrin Relay Node. 2) Using infantry to support the tanks, and using an engineer to take the Superweapon. 3) Redirecting the Scrin Mothership by bombing the disruption towers and then bombing the Nod base with 8 FireHawks. @@s1nnur_ Honestly, I excepted your playtime to be much higher! I’m not that interested in speed running itself, more in getting tips and studying for beating the game on hard. Especially, this mission and Kane's Tower are giving much such a hard time. Also Croatia.

@@stegi9315 I have a video of Croatia on my playlist if you want to watch how to do it - you can sell the walls (I think $50 each) and pick up $3000 from the boxes at the start (with the pitbull). That should make it a lot easier. Also remember that you can make another harvester at your War Factory straight away to increase your income. You really souldn't underestimate how helpful those extra credits are. Kane's Tower is definitely the hardest Hard mission imo. I might upload a video tomorrow actually, as it's an interesting mission. I have only completed one Nod speedrun at present!

question why didn't you just go straight away and blow up the control node right after destroying the left scrin base why did you have to go to the right base which wasted time since right after blowing up the reactors on the left scrin base the storm column defending the control node was already depowered

That's a good question! I actually tried to do that, but the Scrin Storm Columns are on a seperate power grid - sometimes the Scrin power plants don't even matter at all, and sometimes they power different parts of the Scrin bases. In this case, the Scrin base is seperated and although the power for the left side goes down the four Storm Columns stay active. You stop the power to the Storm Columns by taking out power at the end there. (You also can't send the Commando to kill the ones closer to the node because the Storm Columns get him!)

@@s1nnur_ i see yeah i forgot that cnc3 features allow the ai to depower structures manually and they are good at it
I wonder if you could use the commando to make the mothership kill their whole base

The Nod base? I think the Mothership heads there but it usually gets killed by the Nod AA.

@@s1nnur_ no the scrin base. I never knew the mothership was just in their base, I thought it got summoned near where you deactivate the disruption towers

@@theredeemer2974 Oh, no it's hanging around the Western Drone Ship, or is summoned there. I've never actually seen it attack anything tbh
