BZN - 25 jaar jubileum in Volendam

n 1986, it is already happening before a grand jubilee concert. It was like all sure that this would happen at the next birthday again. And yes, it happened. This time, the entire concert was recorded for television and radio.
A portion was broadcast live on the radio. The biggest hits were also a few days later aired on TV.
On Friday, September 20 was the day. A party was celebrated .. and how! We will now describe in the story "BZN 25 Anniversary" in Volendam.
In the days before September 20, it was already a busy intent on BZN-Square in Volendam. Technicians and installers worked very hard to make sure that the BZN party could start. The day before the concert took place some fans nestled in their sleeping bags to the stage to win A nice spot in front
Around 20:30 the Mayor of Volendam came on stage. He gave a short speech about the pride of Volendam.
Started right after the intro, the instrumental version of "Over the Hills".
During this intro presenter Chiel van Praag came on stage to announce BZN.
The big BZN party. The first song of the evening was, how could it be otherwise Mon Amour.
Hits such as "If I only had a chance" and "Help Me" followed. Also, some number of the previous album "Horizon". As we all know BZN also played covers during their performances. For this concert tour and the accompanying cover "Take that look of your face" Marty Webb was played again. This cover was in the late 70s and early 80s played regularly.
The guest appearance of the Star Sister and Star Brother, the couple during the "Horizon" tour at BZN occurred caused such a success that "Carola Sister and Brother Jan" once again played their big Hitmedley.
This act was followed by a medley of hits BZN , namely La Primavera 1988 (with instrumental intro by Dick Plat) and The Summertime 1985.
The swinging song "Aloha he" was then played by Jan Keizer on two drums.
The 2nd half of this fabulous concert of course was again full of hits, both old and recent hits. This was broadcast live on the radio at all. The 2nd half started with the favorite song of the band members "Over the Hills", which was written for the World Wildlife Fund.
"Mi Corazon", or Dick Plat's Lambada, was the next song. Nice swinging put it all BZN Square upside.
Like the previous two numbers of the 2nd half, the third song was again a number of the previous album "Horizon". Namely the romantic "Tonight".
Then announced Jan Tuyp the song "Glasnost" to. This Russian song, which differs considerably from the BZN repetoir, was something quite different. Instrumental and with a big drum solo by Jack Veerman. This song was played earlier during the previous tour's "Crystal Gazer" and "Horizon".
As we are accustomed BZN comes after a wild song, a quiet song. This is usually sung by Carola. The song "A young girls dream" was played. Carola was accompanied by Dick on piano. The remarkable thing is that this song was never played before. Live Jan Tuyp told that it's about Carola who was in love with her teacher Geography. Carola asked, wondering if maybe he was not in the audience.
The hit "La France" in 1986 followed. 'Waltzing Maria ", also from 1986, was launched to allow sway. Thousands of fans in Volendam The party was in full swing.
After this song Jan Tuyp told that this is the most beautiful evening of 25 Years BZN.
He can also confirm that there are 40,000 fans came to Volendam.

Vandaar dat laaiend enthousiaste publiek natúúrlijk .....De Annie van toen is een heel andere dan van nu . Zelfs de stemmen hadden in het begin veel overeen overeenkomst .
