Byron Creek Mt Mee pt 1

Byron Creek falls walk
This is a walk video in five parts starting at the southern end of Mt Mee National Park, coming up Chambers Road to Pegs Road. This is part 1 of 5 parts.
At the highest point of Pegs Road a gate marking Gravel Pit Break is on the left. This walk started there at that junction, and followed Pegs Road for 2.0 kms, to Byron Creek concrete crossing, passing at 13:20 the gate to Hanger Break, on the left.
The walk then followed Byron Creek downstream to the top of Byron Creek waterfalls (20m falls)
There is a route down the southern side of the falls. I started recording below the falls, before climbing up to the top of the falls, and returned cross country (no marked trail) to Gravel Pit Break, exiting the creek about 40 metres upstream from the falls. This was about half a kilometre of walking with no marked track, until I hit the remains of an old logging track that joined Gravel Pit Break, for a total of 1.2 kilometres from creek to the gate sighted at the start.

Part 3 Byron Creek to top of falls.
Part 4 Climb to top of falls, and move 40 m upstream to exit.
Part 5 exit to Gravel Pit Break
It is possible to approach the falls from downstream, however vertical walls on both side of the creek, just short of the large pool below the falls, necessitates either a swim through, or a gruelling traverse along the western bank, going high to avoid the sheer dropoffs below.
