Less than lethal is when you use the powder rounds and don't do straight head shots. Even with a powder round, a head shot could be lethal. Companies sell rounds with metal in them, that's not what the byrna is designed for, but people still buy them.

It's very powerful I know that for sure

There are alternate rounds you can use, like Grimburg JUL rounds and 9g steel core riot rounds. Trust me when I say that a shot to the face will SERIOUSLY deter an attacker.

What's the lb/ft muzzle velocity on this?

I ordered one to carry in a state that im not legally allowed to carry a firearm (ccw in 32 states but my home state license was revoked)- but these ratings are kinda whack. Gonna order an fsc soon, check how it prints on me, then probably carry that. Rather be getting 40 joules than 18, i can train to twist a magazine.

Good for indoors and crowds. Down range victims are unnecessary.

So do I. Plus a SW 500 magnum, Glock 20 10mm, etc, etc. The Byrna is not designed to replace a firearm nor would I use it against an attacker who is armed. But there are plenty of situations when lethal force is not the best option. Having both is the way to go.

You missed the point of non lethal . Every event does not require a firearm as Travis McMichael found out with life without parole.

Depends on the state my dude. Hey they will ship it to you. If you've paid your time, then you should have your right to defend your life. Be responsible, don't tell people what you're armed with, and make your own judgment calls. Rather be alive in legal trouble than wishing I'd have broken some rules and badly injured or dead.

@@GMCCORN23 I did use it..you can shoot an eye out with a BB gun…but you won’t hit an eye anyway it’s not the large mass.. If the pepper balls worked better it would be a much better device, but the amount of pepper is too small in such a small ball

This is a toy you will piss off the burglar and he will reach for a real gun at worst the burglar will see you have a gun and he will go into fight for his life and shoot you before he realizes it's not a real gun. he doesn't even have 17J power...

Take a full mag of Byrna rounds to your face, then come back and let me know if it’s still a “toy.” A man testified to tearing the skin off an assailant’s cheek with a shot from a Byrna. And that’s not even factoring in the pepper rounds or the OC rounds.

@@Outrider74 It's not a game, you don't aim for the head, it's too easy to miss. Even if you hit it once, imagine that the hit person will not still stand and wait for your move, which you have already made and move, good luck in hitting the head a second time and you write about the entire magazine :D The 5th time a burglar will instinctively have a gun in his hand and it won't be 17J... Considering that not everyone is sensitive to pepper gas or even pain, would you ask a burglar for a drug test before you pull out this toy? You think that a squirming burglar on the floor who feels completely threatened is not able to fire his magazine blindly, which is about 20 shots :D Going out with such a toy on a burglar is like playing Russian roulette. Deal with it I had to too because I would like to have something to defend myself but it doesn't work, I've seen guns with more power but not without permission in my country but a ball will crack a coconut ;] except that it's still something you don't go for a burglar alternatively, you shoot him when he finds your hiding place. I don't know how it is in your country, but in our country only black powder weapons come into play without a permit. Worse with its use but better to get in trouble with the law than lose your life...

@@Outrider74 In Poland and in Poland, air guns up to 17j and black powder firearms are separately loaded without permission. Crossbow for permission and only the bow is left :D In our country, you can't even have a baseball bat in your car because it's already a melee weapon :D If I was very afraid of burglary, it's best to hang such speakers as they have alarms, one in each room, it's tiny and the remote trigger would do the job, without a stopper, the burglar will rather run away without confrontation, the volume of this exceeds the limits of pain and will certainly alert all neighbors in nearby.
