Loved the Karen's Facebook page and the call of duty comments. I do like the idea that you don't have to hit your target with the pepper rounds to render the enemy less harmful. I know with a traditional firearm once I shoot someone I'm probably going to jail because not all self defense situation are in my favor.

As a OTR trucker and a frequent flyer, I just want to say Thank you for this option.

Air travel is my number 1 reason I love this product. It's a huge win for the self defense crowd, for sure.

I carry the byrna sd for work and a local cop actually gave me some shit about not having a “real firearm.” I simply explained to him that I don’t like the liability especially in CA so I decided to carry the byrna instead of getting my firearm permit for security. It looks and feels just like a firearm and most people think it is. So many people including ones that I work with are skeptical of the byrna. The best thing your company did is getting them BSIS approved. Thanks byrna.

So as someone who has one and has presumably taken the BSIS testing for the Pepperball rounds, were you required to take the full security guard test or was the Chemical test Byrna offers enough to satisfy California law to have the Pepperball rounds? I tried to ask Byrna Customer Service if you are required by California to take the full Security Guard test to have the chemical rounds or if their testing is sufficient for the state and they just quoted the info from the website which wasn't really a good answer.

I love Byrna SD and all other products I purchased. I can't wait to receive my 7 round magazine, once shipped 😄.

Great video. I got a few good laughs. There are a lot of wahoos out there now with the wrong mentality for less lethal. I completely agree about the legal consequences of going too far with the power settings and crazy ammo.

If it isn't Scardycat ,who else? Hi, Scardy I have been discussing the same issue with one of the commenters in a certain video. He has friend who is a judge and they were discussing his newly acquired byrna SD when the issue of modification popups and his judge friend was legally not in favour of modding beyond manufacturer's specs, let alone the use of some pointed rounds like "killer spikes " which can penetrate the skin and need one to be hospitalized in order for them to be removed" Now noticing you mentioning it here, can you please elaborate further your stance with this heavy mod and metal rounds not recommended by manufacturers? The reason for query is that I was nearly tempted to mod to 50 - 60j after hearing one of the tuner on you tube saying that it can be done and you will feel safe as it can "bring the attacker down". As with most of this videos and this pro gun owners, no legal aspects are touched.🤔

@@malefanematsie3890 I'm one of the few channels that try to emphasize using the right tool for the right job without trying to sell any product. The law and judges will look at power mods very closely and of course it's complicated by political narratives and the specifics of each situation. With that said, I would purchase a product marketed as "Less Lethal" and not go modding a paintball marker to high power beyond it's normal specs. The mods could be used by a prosecutor as intent to kill or cause serious bodily injury and they can lead to the product failing on you just when you need it most. PepperBalls aren't the best options for most situations either but they do have their place. Byrna kinetic impact is on the lower end of the scale so in my opinion the strength of the Byrna system is for chemical rounds in very specific situations with a person that's not overly aggressive. The element of surprise from concealed carry is also part of the Byrna strength. Mixing chemical and kinetic is a smart combo too. Ultimately we all have to weigh the risks and benefits of using air-power vs. a firearm and it's complicated. Scaredy Cat TV will continue to try to deconvolute the information out there as best I can. I think that's the best way to help the Less Lethal community by being an honest broker without bias.

You are spot on, the prosecutor will raise the modification as aggravation and byrna and other manufacturers will distance themselves from the launcher mod not approved by them. Regards 🙏🙏

Hey all I just watched Kentucky Ballistics yesterday and Scott was testing the Byrna on a ballistic dummy and I would have to say that this non-lethal weapon should very much be effective. Scott used to Byrna Max Co round and after the cloud cleared the effect was still effective as he walked up to the dummy. You can see it on KZread Kentucky Ballistics

I saw that video. Pepperballs are the real deal. I recently exposed myself to one just to see and the heat/pain receptors were activated fast.

Some people will complain about anything. Personally I love the Byrna idea and adding 2 extra shots is a Hugh change. Being a old Marine I don't wish to do serious permanent damage to someone for being stupid. .non lethal force is easier in many cases. However if the bad guys are Hell bent on some crazyness then reach in the big Noise box and whip out the ole M249 and let it rip a can of absolute woop Ass nightmare for them bad guys but seriously. A Byrna can in 93% of the situation do exactly as it's made for . non lethal force against someone so you can leave the immediate area leave them gagging on pepper balls and call the cops.

I've been practicing with my Byrna SD XL that I got delivered yesterday (thanks ebay). At 30 -45 feet, the kinetic rounds should make an avaerage bad guy stop, turn, and run. A pepperball hit should certainly create a get away opportunity for me if I have to use it. Love my new purchase, while I wait forever for my CCP here in NY.

I found your responses very smart and full of common sense. Byrnas are hard to find and very expensive in Argentina. Anyways, I adjusted a pair Tippmann TIPX with good quality pepper balls ( first shot is usually weaker so I load a rubber ball first). I keep them in my car and always at hand in my workshop or when camping. Cheers!!!

Well put. The purpose of the less lethal is to stop the attacker without killing. While I like high powered airguns as well, my primary intent in carrying a Byrna is NOT to end a life.

I got it because I'm not trying to kill someone just stop them long enough to get away. I have no intentions of pulling it out unless I seriously believe I am in danger of being attacked. I have to say I would prefer the seven round clip but hopefully will never be in a situation where I need to stop more than one assailant per incident. I literally walk around looking like Xena Warrior Princess with the amount of weaponry I wear. I want people to know I will not be an easy target so move along. So far I have been successful but times are going to get really bad, especially for the elderly. It's good to know you've created something I think is a great alternative. If a child does get hold of this weapon they will still live to tell about it. If the assailant takes it from me I won't die from my own hand gun. Thank you for giving me a way to feel safe and protected. 😁

I would look at concealing it regardless. Even though it's not classed as a firearm, why would you advertise? Depending on your state or city, you should be able to carry a Byrna concealed w/no issues.

I own the original launcher, with a holster. I wouldn't mind having a Lazer attached to my byrna. With the ability to keep my red dot. Attached. I currently have no options for holster an Lazer.

7 round mag is useless? There are two things you will NEVER hear someone say in ernest: "That's too much bacon." and "I brought too much ammunition to this gunfight."

People post before they think (or they just don't think - duh!). Why have a 7-round magazine? As you said, 1) because some shots miss, and 2) you may be facing more than one assailant. I'm an owner of two Byrna's (one for me, one for my wife) and have 2 7-round magazines on order.

like your video. Especially the Karen shot. World has way too many Karen and Stan's. Idiots living on their own planet. 1 of my friends told me - the way you shoot why do you need Karate?? Simple - in case some bad guy gets between me and my gun locker. I am gonna by your product. 2 reasons - self defense from bad guys and a couple yrs ago I went out on my patio to have a coffee and wound up between a sow black bear and her cubs. Not a nice place to be. Did manage to get back into house and grab my defender - but "cowboys" were not really happy with me killing 3 bears and waking up the niebourhood.

I think it would be important to state while handguns are the most common guns used in "mass shootings", that is defined as 4 or more victims being injured or killed or a combination of both. I've looked at the statistics on the FBI link - here's what I saw: Hand guns account for more injuries and more incidences, true , but more deaths have occurred in mass shooting events involving AR style rifles than with hand guns PEROID. To argue else wise is a "Karen" type skewing" of the data to fit a pro-AR narrative. Happy Byrna SD owner BTW - helped with Neighborhood watch duty!
