Things definitely looking rather grim for SLC3, but maybe they have a rabbit's foot. If they can just survive this attack, then scuttle and escape, they might live to see another day! :)

Nice to finally see how this game plays. Am not quite sold on it though (the mechanics of the game don't seem fluid to me). Maybe later missions will be better, we shall see. Good luck sinking them ships.

I'm running a bit late on this week's Submarine Monday (should go up tomorrow), but I've noticed a jump in flow now that I'm playing my third mission (second of this campaign). It feels like a fairly straightforward sequence of play at this point. The thing that's taking me a bit of time is understanding the action options (energy cost and nuances), but it's not complicated and the player aid with all the actions on it helps.

Oh man...I was really hoping this one would be next! Thanks for this. settling in to watch

Love watching replays of this game...one of DVG's finest. I HATE CLIFFHANGERS! Ahhhhhhh...fortunatly all your episodes are up as I am watching after you finished the series, so all good. :) I'm going to finally break my copy of the game out and start playing. Thanks for the motivation.

Most excellent! I'd be curious to hear how it goes. I'm really enjoying the Custom Campaign for all the long term decisions is puts on the player. Adds a whole new layer to the game. And the series isn't done yet. We still have 3 missions to go. Mission 7a should go up today, with the last 5 episodes coming out throughout the rest of June. :) Thanks for stopping in!

Thanks, coyi! It's very interesting to play. The missions seem so impossible at first. I think as we get better technology and upgrades, hopefully things will start to get a bit easier. :)

Whaaaa a cliff hanger omg this is edge of ya seat stuff. Talk about having the deck stacked against you oh boy this game is intense and even before you get out of the gates you're almost screwed. Loved this mate!

Yes, this first mission is really hard, and in order for the second mission to become easier we have to have some success in this mission. If we can't get to 4VP the next mission will be just as hard as this one. :) Yikes!

Nice video, but you really need to have a strong will to not get discouraged by the punishment of really bad equipment. Kinda like watching a train wreck, just waiting for one to get killed. Well you have me hooked on the video, just not sure on the game.

Thanks! I'm curious to see how the custom campaign progresses with technology and skill advancements. I think a key will be getting the 4 VPs need to upgrade our technology for the next mission. Even one technology upgrade will help our chances a lot. :) (I think this mission is notoriously hard in the Historical Campaign as well. My understanding is in the Historical Campaign subsequent missions get quite a bit more manageable, and looking at the historical setup for Mission 2, there are a good number of advancements present.)

Being a certified diver I can't imagine the bravery of these Italians. Its difficult enough just diving but riding on 990 lbs of torpex doesn't seem fun.

@@ZillaBlitz The Eyeties had a successful attack like this with 2 man sub at Alexandria crippling H.M.S. Queen Elizabeth (Warspite).

Brilliant Zilla. Really narrative gameplay once again. I gladly pilot one of the SLC’s (obviously no. 1 has my preference at the moment 😆).

This is a really fun game, and I highly recommend the custom campaign instead of the historical campaign. I don't have the name of the song any more, sorry. It came from a digital music collection I got on the Unity store a long time ago. :)

Rough guess, but I'm starting to think we can expect to lose 2 out of 3 crews in each mission. But maybe I can play a bit more conservatively to take advantage of some of the DRMs on escape that turn things in your favor a bit.

I’m in for a crew. Pick a crew, any crew and how about nicknaming that crew ‘Cabby and Shabby’, my cats are named after wine. Cabernet Sauvignon (Cabby) and Chablis (Shabby). Italians, wine and maned torps, sounds like a winning combo even if it’s a bit cheesy =)

No worries, mate! We're all super busy. Thanks for stopping in, and I've added you to the list. I suspect our Alexandria and Algiers missions will clear out a good number of our living crews, and I'm going to mix things up too, so there's a good chance you may find yourself riding a torpedo at some point in the near future! :)

I've done that first scenario three times, maybe four, and it just seems to be more frustrating every time. I made it inside the nets twice but after that...

The first scenario is brutal, because I wanted it to evoke the historical technical struggles from the first mission. In retrospect, perhaps I should have had players start with an easier mission as the default.

Yes! That's exactly what my creator voice said to the editor voice in my head. My creator voice said, "No, we can't cut the episode in half right before a HUGE moment!" But my editor voice said, "Create a cliff hanger, you idiot, and you can't have an hour-long episode!" and then editor voice pushed creator voice out my ear and took over the editing process.
