This was extremely helpful thank you so much! I’m about to go test drive a 2004 4 door e46 and I have been looking up videos! This has been the most helpful. I was wondering if there is anything else I should be looking for? And what the engine whine is? I’ve seen a few videos where their engines are whining when they turn on the car so is that normal?

I mean there is a ton more little things with these cars. I just touched on the bigger things. As far as the whine noise goes, there is a ton of things it could be. Mine actually whines from the a/c compressor. If you switch the a/c off it goes away. But its been making that noise for 2 years and 40k miles without causing an issue.
