Simply put a very ingenious way to share the best music in the world and J.S. Bach a divinely inspired musician that I don't believe will be repeated in our world. He along with Mozart-Beethoven-Chopin-Tchaivkowski-Schubert-Brams-Wagner are the core elite of the best of the best.

Goodness, that left hand in the third movement... All I want in a continuo line haha

Thank you Gerubach so much for disposing the music of the master Bach, allowing us apreciate and play together at same time. A gift and a tribute!

Yes, this one is Bach's own arrangement of his violin concerto.

***** Yes, I will be posting the incomplete BWV 1059 in with the original score manuscript. However, the audio will, sadly, have to be in a midi format. I have not been able to find a real recording of it. (That is, an incomplete version of it).

Finally someone made a cadenza in the third movement. Also violinists should made an Ad Libitum in those moments. They should learn from harpsichordists in baroque music.

I'd play it on a Concert Grand Harpsichord with all the stops activated because the Octave lower strings really add alot along w/ the 2 middle register sets of strings, and finally the Octave higher strings which add alot.

Will you also make the fragment of the eighth concerto? (BWV 1059)

I came here because this is the demo piece of the harpsichord on my Yamaha digital piano and I saw the name on the user manual :D :D :D

I feel like when Bach wrote this, he was like: "whoops, almost went into D minor instead. Lets just write a few more bars to get myself out of trouble :)"

is the harpsichord player so strong ? He renders an incredible sound and musicality on this instrument which allows very few liberty

TwoSet Violins have been hacking the software, probably.

I've noticed that several violin concertos were transposed a full step down when Bach rearranged them for harpsichord(s). Is there a reason for that? (I suppose that it is because it might result in a better fingering on the keyboard, or a better sounding tonality but maybe there is another reason I don't know).

The keyboard in Bachs time was 5 octaves F1-F6.

Thank you sang. I'm glad you enjoyed this posting. In regards to the Baritone Sax arrangement, I ended up keeping the concerto in G Minor. There were a few tweeks made to the register. One example was lowering and raising things up and down an octave. In the end, it all worked out fine.

gerubach I'd have loved to take the continuo part on the Bassoon for that arangement. Movement 3 is as good as it gets in terms of continuo writing to be honest.

+Seepnenga Indeed JS Bach took Vivaldi Model of Concerto... but shaped with the german structure of the music

It is supposed to! Bach mixed his style with alot of Vivaldi's, and even transposed some of Vivaldi's works.

Bach basically reused this entire piece from BWV 1041. The A minor violin concerto must have had some good material in it, because this is an EXACT copy, save the whole step transposition.

Well, not EXACTLY... There are some extra treats in this one, for example the keyboard part at 13:20 onwards, and a few others...

BWV 1041 is too familiar with this one, Bach must notice that this is an arrangement of a violin concerto.

The whole 1052 to 1058 set is material from Arias and Concertos (for Violin, Oboe, Brandenburg...) arranged or transcribed.
