Bach - Concerto in A minor BWV 1065 | Netherlands Bach Society

Музыка

Bach arranged various Vivaldi concertos for organ and harpsichord. The Concerto in A minor, performed by Siebe Henstra, Menno van Delft, Pieter-Jan Belder and Tineke Steenbrink for All of Bach, is largely based on Vivaldi's Concerto in B minor for four violins and orchestra. But of course, he gave it an exciting twist, as in Bach’s version the soloists play harpsichords and B minor changed to A minor.

If you consider to put the time table with labels (titles) in the description (not in de comment section) and start with 00:00 instead of 0:07 all the pieces will appear in the progressing red bar. Than listeners on a desktop can click on the progressing red bar to see the active track and by clicking that track with the mouse pointer all tracks will appear in the upper right corner as 'Chapters' and the active track will be marked blue around the edges. Thanks for pinning the comment so it will appear as the first comment of the many appreciations that surely will follow. You're welcome.

The original of this was written in Venice by Vivaldi for 4 VIOLINS and string orchestra. A few years later, Bach got hold of a copy of Vivaldi's Concerto for 4 violins & Orchesta and ARRANGED it so he (Bach) and three of his sons could play it, substituting HARSICHORDS for Violins. To do so he had to compose a lefthand part for each of the harpsichords. The Bachs played this Arrangement of Vivaldi's Cto at Zimmermann's Koffee Haus in Leipzig. Bach was the Director of Music for Leipzig for the four principal Lutheran Churches at the time. He moonlighted as Director of the Collegium Musicum (Friends of Music), a group that played weekly at Zimmermann's.

Just some thoughts, I've always enjoy listening to classic music, but KZread seems to be compressing the audio bitrate in every videos to around 128kbps AAC or 160kbps OPUS. As many already knew, 128kbps or 160kbps aren't enough for detailed music. Though KZread's video guideline suggests uploaded video should have the audio quality set to at least 512kbps (which is a pretty good audio quality, balancing between minor music details and the size of the audio), what we hear afterwards will still be restricted to 128kbps and 160kbps. To be honest, KZread's audio quality is completely okay for most music. Their compressing technique is very good many wouldn't be able to distinguish it between lossless file, but not for classical music, as higher bitrate does makes differences. Each instrument sounds different, and higher bitrate allows us to distinguish them and thus also makes each music piece be unique from each other. It will be better if Netherlands Bach Society can simultaneously upload their original recorded audio file to some places such as SoundCloud etc which accept lossless audio files such as .flac. Please don't start a war below please. This is just my grumble when listening to good music.

This is a very rare situation indeed. I want to say, in fact, probably a "once in a lifetime opportunity"to witness something like this. Especially in America where haprdichord music seems to be a dying art (at least in the middle part of the country). Here in Colorado, I was privileged by getting to witness this twice within a week. This piece, alongside many more including a piece composed by one the harpsichordists playing in these concerts: Fugue in E for four harpsichords was performed! I was not one of the musicians performing in these events, however. I was one of MANY volunteers tasked with moving and shuttling these majestic instruments between the the performance venues and the homes of the people they belong to. This belongs in an audiophile's reference collection. The performance of all is equaled by the engineering used to capture. The clarity, dynamics and spacial separation really give the listener the best seat in the huis. In search of comparison, I went next listened to BWV 1063 (recorded in a stage-based setting) and this piece (1065) is truly brilliant. Bedankt!🎧👼🎧

Something about this music, when I herd it the first time, it sent chills down my spine. I just listened and ignored the video, wow! those beautiful happy notes, the violin coming in between and the harpsichords playing their complex and playful music, the cello. Humans can achieve this? Wow!. I'm not a musician, I'm quite lame, I called the harpsichord a piano till now. After "Chanson- Etude - Op 10, No 3" which brought back nostalgia, this is the first piece that touched me. What a wonderful day we live in when we can hear such music!. I type this with a bit of tears in my eyes for this brought me cheer in a busy and tiresome life.

Musician here. The reason these are called baroque setups is because the violins have so shoulder rests and or check rests. One effect of the bow is that at the tip, the sound is a lot less vibrant, witch was desired in the baroque period. I happen to play on a modernized barouque violin Andre around 1755. It is amazing how these instruments are still around
