A fresh look at the brandenburg no 4!

Wow :') It's beautiful my eyes are beginning to tear up. Bach is just amazing. How can a being on this earth produce something so beautiful from their heads. It's not matter of solving an equation that has one solution that we can eventually come to through logic and reasoning. It's... an art creation, millions of combinations of notes, and he put these ones together and it's so.. so... beautiful....

Solving an equation that has one solution is not just a task of applying logic and reasoning. Most of the time it requires special inspiration because the problem is of "open form" as in there is no certain method to find that solution.

Well... Math and music are very connected..( u will use the same parts of ur brain) i would say alot of the great composers would probably be pretty good at math too..

@@_____c___482 Brandenburg 4 itself was also the arrangement of another earlier violin concerto (probably without flutes)

This one is the sixth and last of the first (and only complete) set of harpsichord concertos by Bach. The reason this one was chosen as the last is probably because it's the only one that can match the virtuosity of the opening concerto, the No. 1 in d minor BWV1052. This could also be the reason why Bach changed the key to F major (relative key of d minor) for this concerto, as the original template (Brandenburg 4) happens to be in G major. A second set of harpsichord concertos would have started with the G minor concerto BWV1058 (known as No. 7), followed by the unfinished BWV1059 in d minor, but it's unknown why this set never got completed.

+Huron Tu You need to stop replying like this an making people feel stupid when you're the one that's incorrect. This Keyboard Concerto No. 6 in F Major (BWV 1057) IS Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G Major with the Violin part rewritten into a virtuosic keyboard part and the key changed for some reason.

Yes. Most of these harpsichord concerti were written as exercises for his students and he used many of his previous as templates.

This is the only Concerto in the set of bach's keyboard concertos to use anything but a keyboard and strings..... Unless you count the Brandenburg Concerto Number 5 and the triple Concerto in A minor.

Oh ok I see one is in F Major and the other G Major. And the instrumentation is different.
