I want to thank you for this gift of a video. My father watched this during his last days on earth while on hospice for end stage gastric cancer - in fact we watched it together at 1:30am last week as he waited for his pain medication to kick in. This video is now cemented in my most magical memories of our last week together. Dad was an avid BWCA tripper and I spent most of my childhood in a canoe. Thank you again. You have no idea how much this meant to my family. ❤️

The boundary waters are such a special place and it's my hope that, like your father, I can show my children the beauty. Our time is so short, what better way is there to spend it than in a beautiful place like the BWCA with the people that you love.

im 30 now, my dad first brought me to the bwca in 1998 when i was 5. So sorry for you loss, i can imagine how special your times were, they are some of the most special times I've had with my dad. RIP

Do you remember how far it is from the parking lot to where you put your canoe into the water. I'm finding some discrepancies in that information. I'm heading from there later this summer. Beautiful place that's for sure. Thanks for sharing your video.

Paddle Planner shows that it's 176 rods (2,816 feet) and I'd say that's pretty accurate. It wasn't too difficult of a portage. The only difficult portage we had on this trip was the one from Agnes to Oyster River.
