Great review Ashton was looking to pick this one up but was wondering how similar to man in black it would be. My favorite from this house.

I'm liking the branding adjustments you've made recently, Your Gents Scents icon and banner on youtube, looking good! Bvlgari is such a solid, inexpensive line with a lot of variety for all seasons. Hopefully I can sample this sometime soon.

Great review. I get the same first weird vibe in the opening with Jean Louis Vermeil Vermeil Pour Homme. But after that, I love it. Since the mid, dry down and longevity are the most important to me, I'm OK with that. Love the house and I have owned a few of them. Thanks again.

Greetings! This is a great channel! Your presentation of Bvlgari Man Black Orient is the best in comparison relation to everyone else here on youtube. I want to buy this fragrance in the largest bottle but I do not see it bigger than 100ml. Is this the largest bottle in which it is offered or simply I cen't find?

The batch that i have the oud is very strong and a little funky, i like that. And then everything gets balanced out with the other notes. I pick up resins, musk, cardamom, and oily sweet leather along with some smokiness. I am really enjoying this fragrance. I pick up the tuberose and rose as well. Sometimes i smell chocolate. Not as playful as men in black. This is much more mature.

Great scent, different from Man in Black but equally enjoyable. For me the Oud was really noticeable (and I like it that way).

Would this be similar to DK Men (unleaded)? (The gear shift, sculpture bottle)? Still hunting for a replacement for my favorite fragrance ever.

yeah, it´s more mature version of original (which is too sweet, too teen-age)

Just bought and think it's amazing, it is quite strong and lasts quite a long time. Word of caution though, some of the women in my life simply did not like it, I loved it.

I like the strong smoke smell that this one has in the beginning. It's a very unique oriental smell. It reminds me of bonfires and peated whisky mixed with incense. But the smoke unfortunately fades after a couple of hours, and fragrance becomes a quite boring regular leather and spice fragrance after that. It reminds me a lot of Beckham Homme (which costs a quarter as much) after those first couple of hours. It might still be worth it though, if you really like that initial smell. Try it before you buy it though, because it is quite a harsh fragrance, since it doesn't have any sweet notes. It's not one for everyone.

Is it as smoky as Amouage Interlude Man?

This is a beautiful fantastic scent. I had a mediocre experience w man in black both in performance and in scent so when I looked into this one, I wasnt expecting much. However this one is a top fragrance for me currently, although I don't have too many fragrances, still it is saying a lot bc I am very picky

I think it has a very unique sophisticated smell, and I loved the way you described it. Also, I thought I picket a little tiny bit powdery smell and I always thought I was just being too picky, was I? Lol great review love it

Hey man. Idk if you'll see this comment, but could you help me make a choice? Should I buy Invictus Victory (the regular kind and not the newer one) or Bvlgari Man in Black?

I have some tuberose absolute. Tuberose smells like like bathroom cleaner or an old lady's perfume, I get a diaper nuance to it as well - like some mix of baby poop and the fragrance used to cover cat litter up front. But after 30 mins the Tuberose turns into a dreamy soft rose dry-down. I just blind bought this one due to the original and thought the tuberose might be that nasty initial opening, some essential oils / absolutes are pretty gross off the bat (even cardamom smells similarly noxious upfront, but drys down nicely. I've mixed both cardamom and tuberose into an accord and it's spot on cat litter, not a nice opening but necessary to get to the mid/dry down notes appropriate to soften a dark smoky alwed/oud).

I bought varvatos dark rebel and black in man and having trouble smelling them. Like dark rebel I barely get anything unless I put my nose to my arm. I got them at marshalls and tj max. What could be happening?

Give it a sample when you get the chance, it might work really well for you. I hear you on MIB. I love the fragrance but if you own Spicebomb already it would probably be redundant.

Love both original and Orient, I bought Man in Black on a first sniff too, at first it reminded a lot of spicy coconut with cacao and vanilla, which truly smelled like a spiced cinnamon rum.

As always great video Ashton, you make blind buying easier lol. My experience with Bvlgari is always hit or miss. I love Bvlgari black and there aqva series but some of the Bvlgari man frags are generic to my nose. I always look at them as a in between house. There one of those houses I always think do I spend the money or spend alil more and get something better like a Chanel or dior. Overall a good house especially on budget buys 👍🏼

MAN IN BLACK is one of my top 5 fav designer scents and love this one also...many people dont know it actually smells like a spice market of asia...i feel that's why the name orient as it reminds me of oriental spices... this is more dryer than MIB imo...

I know EXACTLY what you mean about that funkiness in the opening. Me thinks it's a transient combination of 3 notes as they're opening up - possibly the rose, incense/spices and leather. As you know, leather is not really a note and the way it's done in this one could contribute to that weirdness. Incense/spices and rose are usually linear, but it takes a while for leather accords to blossom, possibly contributing to a strange combination for a few minutes. Other frags have similar effects, but at least they're not as bad as animalic ouds. Bleh. I'm sure Chelsea would agree.

You could be correct about that considering leather is really an "accord" made up of numerous aroma chemicals or naturals (in this case aroma chemicals). Once it settles down after the initial blast this one is pretty much all positives for me. Good comment.

I really enjoy the original MiB, but have not worn any of the flankers yet. I’m considering swapping my Spicebomb for MiB, but know that’s not a fair trade cost wise, so I’m also looking at TF Noir Extreme or Chanel Egoiste. Thoughts on the best spicy sweet sexy scent?

Smelt the latest flanker Essence which to me was the best among all the releases but passed on it as well as I never really had the urge to use the OG for close to a year now. Not very talked about gem and better that the original. Much more better blended, lasts and projects so much longer. What put me off from the original was it's lack of power. this one fixes it. Sum note is better blended with other notes so one compliments the other very nicely without jumping out too much or being too harsh.

It's one of the strongest perfumes I've owned. It's very unique and lasts forever! Even after washing my clothes I could still smell it there.

Nice review. This one last longer than MIB. I find it has a Indian chewing tobacco smell. Also call Zarda Paan Masala. 😀

I would describe the original man in black as a creamy spicy, this one is to me, drier

I had tag him the chanel bleu clone and it fell apart :(, I liked Bvlgari man in black but the performance was poor on my skin

Oh I had the same issue with my bottle of Tag Him, I think the bottles for that line are just poorly made.

I'm sorry this stuff just smells rancid to me. Like really strong pepper and burnt waterlogged wood mixed with a strong Eastern incents with a sour floral note.... once it dries down you can pick out the slightest hint of leather Maybe but it's so far in the back and trampled buy everything else in this fragrance. The first time I sprayed it on my wrist my wife and son were about ten feet away and within seconds they walked off into another room. I cannot understand how anybody would like this stuff. I'm going to put it on Let Go. But once anybody smells it I'll be lucky if I can get ten bucks for it.... headache inducing garbage.
