We'll be doing our first bareboat charter ever in June, and I am so delighted to have stumbled upon your very nicely done three part video. Can't thank you enough. Any special considerations for coming in June?

awesome videos. I never charted a boat and never been to a Chart briefing. This feels like IT. But I do have a question/feedback. As someone who is just starting to look at chartering in the BVI, I was looking to get a sense of times. How long to be in specific spot (recommended) and more importantly, give a sense of distance/time from point to point. I am sure that I can figure it out using a chart but for the video, would have been great to add "captions" illustrating distance. - Will be looking at the rest of your videos to learn more.

Great presentation and great series. We are doing our FIRST charter in January, and I'm reconsidering if Cane Garden Bay is a viable option. I'm reading that if the swell is coming out of the North, it can get quite "rolly" with breakers coming over the reef. Should I rule it out completely, or play it by ear? And would dropping the hook in Lee Bay (Great Camanoe) be a viable alternative? We'll be coming down from Anegada (hopefully). Another alternative would be to hit up Jost Van Dyke a day early and either do two nights there, or add in Peter Island for our last night if we rule out CGB.

Jason Jenkins January has the potential for a rolly anchorage due to the Christmas winds. Do not rule it out, but keep the other anchorages beyond CGB as a suitable alternative. Keep in mind if you think CGB is untenable, chances are others will too. I’d consider Great Harbour, JVD, Soper’s Hole in the West End, or even The Bite at Norman Island depending on how you are doing for time/daylight.

John sweda Even though it is the BVI it is very much tied to the USA. The supermarkets do have some English products, you will mostly find American stuff. Where to live is subjective. I lived on Tortola above Brewers Bay and it was lovely.
