I was thinking the same thing! So many reviewers are negative on this game, but it had such a nice cartoony aesthetic and strategy is a surprisingly big part as you weigh your options of money v time v LGM hunting. You are certainly not alone in loving this game !!!
Absolutely appreciate that you capture PS1 footage in its gloriously raw, jaggy state. Way too many channels apply 60 billion bloody filters and bump it up to 4K then pretend that's how the game originally looked.
This shit makes me feel like i am back in the golden age of the internet again, keep it up man, i never got pass the countruction level so seeing the other levels is mindblowing lol
The joke at 8:15 is the best joke ever holy shit. I paused the video and just cackled. Pure cinema. Holy damn. The 7/11 joke. Junko, you are a godsend and menace
Junko, you’re hitting the perfect nostalgia for those late 90s not-quite- millennial but not-quite-zoomer kids. So crazy to see some collective nostalgia for all these relatively obscure games. Before today I hardly believed anyone else had ever played these and they weren’t just my own weird childhood fever dream. And that bop at the end of the video was incredible. Keep up the amazing content.

1997 is often considered the Gen Z starting year. It does feel odd artificially cutting it off though. Like I was born in 94 but I have a lot more in common with the oldest Zoomers than I do another millennial born in the early 80's.

Agreed. Junko is definitely that personality fit for KZread. He's passionate about his subject, witty about his humor, and punctual with his uploads. I know he might be flattered and not agree with some of these points, but nevertheless he is a prime example of a great KZreadr. The kind of guy you want to have some drinks around a campfire with.

This past month has been the most appreciation that Buzz lightyear of star command has recieved in over a decade. It feels nice
Rex shouting BUZZ for every chatline ignited some seriously powerful nostalgia. I still have my disc copy
"Buzzy buzz on PS one" now lives in my head rent free.
You’re setting a high bar for KZread creators when it comes to quality. You’re awesome
Man, i remember playting Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue on my dad's old office laptop in 5-10 FPS. The game was a slideshow and i never beat the first level, but i was playing over and over for like a week
This channel is like a nostalgic rollercoaster I swear

The Randy Newman bit was amazing. I hope people watch till the end.
A mini junko appears and all I can think is "This is getting out of hand. Now there are TWO OF THEM!" in thick Namodeon accent.

Literally two of the greatest games of all time, i remember playing those two for days without saving cuz i didnt know what it meant
I’m impressed you actually got Randy Newman to produce an original song.
Come for the Buzz Lightyear game reviews. Stay for the Randy Newman song.
I need a Mini Junko in my life. We'd play PSP together and talk about Star Wars all day
Finding a new video game-related KZread channel talking about your obscure interests is one of the best, very specific feelings that the internet brings.
omg the callback to the big gulp was pure genius
love you Junko ❤️ that perfect Randy Newman impression really got me, and thank goodness my mom never found about that spaceport mission either

YungJunko talking about Newman being a great VA but I think YungJunko would do just as an amazing job portraying a cartoon villain, honestly your voice alone is cracking me up! Has that same vibe I get from Mark Hamill's Joker and Newman's Zurg. Awesome content!!!
dude that etch-a-sketch level map is cool as shit
4:45 Damn they even made his face reflect in the helmet cover. Can be seen later in the video too but it's impressive to be, they didn't have to do it, but thought it's the right thing to do!

I can’t believe you got the ACTUAL Randy Newman to be in this video!!
I was having a pretty crummy day but then I watched this vid. Instantly made things better, thanks junko!
Clicked for cursed PS1 Buzz, stayed for handsome trash can
This man is going places.
The graphics, the amount of enemies, projectiles, effects and how smooth everything works in such big levels, in a PS1, the technical team behind this game were amazing.
Buzz Lightyear of Star Command on PS1 was the first video game I ever played or owned. And I loved it. The show was great too.
“What are you trying to tell me Rex, I can’t read!” - so fitting as that’s exactly how it was
Man, I really loved these games as a kid. Especially the first one. Good memories of playing it with my mother.
A world without junko isn’t one I want to live in just every video is a instant classic
I think this might be my new favourite channel. Love the singalong ending, now everyone is going to have to hear me humming it all day.
I had the Star Command game when I was younger that was so nostalgic bro
I wish I still had my Toy Story 2 disk. I still have Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. I loved the cartoon and both of those games as a kid. I remember playing Toy Story 2 on a mini $5 radio crt. It was see through purple.
I can't believe he got Randy for this.
Glad Buzz Lightyear of Star Command Animated Series is getting the praise it deserves
Dude, good fucking job with this video. You have become one of my favorites. Your humor, the pacing of the video, and how deep into detail you get is astonishing. Big things are coming your way man
Toy Story 2 for the PS1 was my goddamn childhood. I remember playing for hours till I 100% it
The Randy Newman bit is so good. I wish I could do more to help this channel grow,, because god you deserve it.
Something about your style of video makes it a joy to be able to catch these vids early.
Man I just started watching Yungjunko og game vids, and dude these are absolutely spectacular. Peak entertainment dawg🙏✨
I remember...The color mixing. The pure fear that resided in me because I had no idea how to make green
Man the editing especially for the Toy Story 2 game bit was brilliant. Also damn never heard this Randy Newman song at the end before, it's really catchy!
That crack about Tim Allen’s cocaine snitching thankfully did not go under the radar for me, i’m on the floor
I lost it at the trade world 7/11 conspiracy lol. Also you're randy Newman is spectacular!
God, I played Toy Story 2 a bunch as a kid. Honestly, it looks like it's still really fun, i might have to track it back down
Didn't know these titles existed. Back in the day 10 yr old me was busy dealing with the difficulty of Toy Story 1 on Megadrive.
Buzz LightYear of Star Command is such a throwback to my childhood. Owned the VHS copy of Star Command and played the PC version of it at my grandparents's during warm summers and cold winter holidays. Great times growing up, but also not so great ones, I really was thrown a mixed bag of surprises along the way unfortunately.
Girlfriend almost kicked me out of bed for how hard I was laughing with this one, especially the end. Never change, Junko. And please keep making more content if it makes you happy, because it sure makes us happy 😊
I loved this show and wish they had brought back Mira Nova in the recent movie. Also I wish the Star Command video game was a 3D action platformer instead of an on-foot racing game. It had so much potential.
This was my first video game ever! My mom took like 4 hours to set it up on her Windows 98 PC with a viewsonic CRT.
I love Star Command growing up. My friends had a PS1, and every time I went over that and Bug’s Life is all I would play
Dude, I thought I was the only one who knew about The Weekenders! Anybody I've asked about it has drawn blanks lol I used to love that show!
Oh man the nostalgia. It hurts.
"That's no moon... that's Booster". Fricken hilarious 🤣
Fire video Junko, I picked up the Star Command game on Dreamcast this weekend at TooManyGames, might have to order pizza hut later and winnie the pooh from nostalgia overload

Dont give up, Junko. You got this.
The fact you don’t have at least 100K is bewildering, I discovered your channel about 2 weeks ago and have caught up on your entire backlog. U da 🐐 no 🧢
Dude the Randy Newman voice. Holy shit. Spot on.
Dude your channel snuck into my recommendations and I couldn't be happier. That No Russian bit had me in stitches
holy shi* you unlocked a hidden memory with that action figure of metal buzz, i had the same exact one and I played with it all the damn time.
holy cow i cant believe randy agreed to do your show
I love the lore building with all these junkos
yoooo holy shit that buzz lightyear game, some of my earliest memories are playing that game. I still remember the laugh sound effect that comes from the first level's antagonist lol
That Toy Story 2 game really is fantastic. It was one of the first games I ever saw on the PlayStation and I loved it. Although I never knew anything about the second one. Seems a lot of fun too!
the 7/11 bait and switch joke had me hollering holy shit
Junko uploads new video = Depression cured
I had the first game on PC and absolutely adored it. I never finished it, but I must have played it dozens of hours. I have a very fond memory of my childhood best friend bringing in his N64 copy of the game for Show and Tell and saying he treasured the experience of playing it with me.
I actually grew up with both of these games on PC. I picked up the Star Command game at a second hand store, but unfortunately the Windows 98 PC we had at the time wouldn’t run it. Once we got an upgrade to Vista I finally got to play it and the Toy Story 2 game I picked up in the interim.
Best hidden gem channel on KZread!
Please never stop making videos every single upload from you is a classic
I really want a Junko mini now. I mean, if it plays everything the PSP plays and can talk to you, that would be great.
Buzz light-year of star command was my very first ps1/console game. Unfortunately I lost in a move a few years back. This game ended at level 3 for 5 year old me. Between the hover board and the bombs it was impossible. I came back to beat it as an adult before I lost it and holy hell was it chaotic! It's kinda like MegaMan but you race the boss to the finish. Toy story 2 is definitely more fun but buzz light-year of star command will always hold a special place in my heart. Oh and thanks for telling me that toy story 2 is on ps4. I bought it on my ps3 digitally years ago and was able to download it on ps4 for no extra charge! I really hope Sony brings back the extensive ps1 catalog. It was one of my favorite things about the ps3.
That's my childhood ,i remebered played this game, in was in the first level but i never completed the game as a kid.
Buzz Lightyear fell with style so Master Chief could shoot down from orbit like a boss
Your Randy Newman impression had me dying dude 💀
World. Needs more Junko. Always.
Never played or even heard of these games. Which is a testament to Junko's skill, because this video is thoroughly enjoyable
Toy Story 2 was also my first game. Played the shit out of both of these as a wee tot. Thanks for the memories Junko.
This was just BEAUTIFUL, please never change your amazing style of editing and narration! ❤️
That COD Airport level crossover 🤣👏🏻
I grew up with that PS1 Toy Story 2 game around a lot. I think me/my siblings all beat that one a couple times... Fun level design tho! And once again, awesome vid, very fun, there were about a hundred tiny edits scattered throughout that I loved
junko your content is so refreshing! youtube has felt so dead for song long and i can always count on you for a quality video!
YES I've been missing the junko sings segment
Man this really bring back lovely memories

Instant like and comment. Gotta help you succeed because I want you making content full time. Keep it up!
Your videos are always fantastic, and the quality just keeps getting better and better. Great work dude. I love these.
Very nicely done sir! I can't believe how close our experiences are regarding Toy Story 2, it's a little weird lol. I don't remember my first video game specifically, but I know TS2 was one of them. I loved watching my friends play through the first level, it was mind-boggling to my 3-year-old self. And then once I finally got my own copy for my 5(th?) birthday, I played the absolute s*** out of it. I remember having the exact same problem in Construction Yard and not figuring out that puzzle until I actually dreamt the solution! That was wacky but an experience I'll never forget. It was this game that also taught me the importance of saving your progress, something I didn't actually start doing until I was 8 or 9 😂 To sum it all up shortly, playing through this game would be an amazing adventure that I'll treasure...
Yessss new video. Your channel is the best.
