I have the 991A that I got from a guy in AZ from Ebay. Works fantastic. Exercised it on 10m contest weekend, worked well. It is modded with the panadapter.

991a is a great radio, fantastic filters.

Used radios have been very very good to me.

I still think R&L is the best for used radios. I love MTC and I have been to all 3. DX Engineering is the only one I have not used. In fact, I did a video about searching for used radios.

Don't understand the hate to the 991 or 991A, I seen it in person and its fine for what it is. If I want a shack in a box radio, that's the only thing worth buying right now that's not QRP. IC-705 would be perfect if it was 100W, but it's a QRP handheld.

Neither do we, the 991a is a great radio. That said, spending $950 on a used 991 seems cray cray.

Not sure what you guys mean by it's slow. I have a 991, non A, & I have absolutely no issues with other than the ATU stinks.

I bought mine from HRO down the street for $2600 and no shipping. Has been a fantastic rig for me.
