That wagon was a total bargain - they're so pleasant to drive and have wild amounts of carrying-capacity.

W210 was the last Mercedes designed car before the dreaded Chrysler- Benz merger. It's still a good car but I hear they rust easy. Not something I need to worry about here in California.

yes they rust in salty areas but the engines are bulletproof

What year is that wagon Mark? I noticed your instrument cluster screens are slightly different. I have a 2001 e320 sedan. I'm in Vegas so no rust. However, I don't think it was ever garaged because the paint is shot. A good paint job is more than the car is worth and way more than I can afford. I've had it now for 5 years and am at 154k miles. It's black on black. It has the AMG sport appearance package which includes side skirts, different bumpers than standard and lowered springs. Rides like a chuck wagon on rough roads but handles well at 100 on the freeway except for the tyres. Did I just say that? Lol They get lowsy fuel mileage in town! It's a heavy car. Love the car!

Hey its a 99 ya paint jobs can be expensive now adays !

Shimmy could be steering rack, engine/transmission mount, flex discs, or wheel bearing. Are you willing to sell this wagon or the Monoblocks? And all W210/S210 owners unanimously agrees that the temperature at 110°C is normal. Also if you’re lucky, your radio unit where the volume knob is, that entire left “square” comes off as an added safety bonus to prevent theft. Otherwise it doesn’t. As for cosmetic aesthetics of the car, if you decide to go with lowering springs I would suggest #1 pads all around as the stock ones are #3 in the front and #4 in the rear. Once lowered you can adjust the SLS to your liking. Purists would keep the accumulators but airbags are the way to go if you’re looking for comfort over utility. Just my thoughts. As for performance there are many tuners playing with the M112/K and M113/K right now while the M120 is a whole other ball game. If you want a manual 5 or 6 speed that’s also available. Many things to do with this work horse, just whatever the budget permits it. The Depo housing typically has air leaks. It’s best to seal it yourself and as for the paint, Mercedes went green for the environment during the Al Gore days so their paint was water based which is a flaw just as the wirings.

I dont think ill be parting ways with it might drive it to the ground. Tires aee dry rotted so thats a good place to start the shimmy went aways after driving the car more frequently. Ya Id probably just keep the sls and just do the bump stops I did the same on my e55 well that didnt have sls and I know someone that did the manual swap that was cool.

For that price the car is a steal let alone the wheels. Super jealous. I say go OEM plus. Maybe black Alcantara headliner?
