@@sosadetz Thank you! There are a lot of nice brands out there! And you are right it can be a lot of personal preference. Right now my favorites are my Reginas...but my friend picked them up in Italy for me. It can depend a lot on what you can find in your area. The shoe brands featured in this video are in the description now :)

Personally I find lower heels - i.e. 6 cm - much sexier and they make your legs look more beautiful and round. It's wrong to think that your legs look prettier with very high heels.

As an absolute beginner, I've taken a pair of my most comfortable shoes (with a low block heel) and glued some leather soles on them. I had a hard time finding dance shoes that are my style and comfortable. The diy method is quiet easy. Use barge glue.

Very helpful video! Would you share the sizes of the shoes you own? That would be very helpful when comparing brand sizes for online orders! ( No tango shoes shops in this country unfortunately)

Great video! I also wish there was more information when I first started dancing. All my teacher told me that as a beginner I must buy closed heel shoes because they are more stable. Another teacher told me that heels higher than 7cm are not a requirement. While others told me to get the highest heel. Tried that and could not walk in them. My sweet spot for heels is 8.5cm. At what point do you throw away your shoes?

Great video! What do you thing about dancing sneakers for beginners? I am afraid that front part of the sole is not so smooth which makes turns difficult…

dance sneakers are clunky. The lack of a heel won't help you learning proper balance and posture. There are low heel dance shoes, also known as practice shoes. I like using them for practice.

I tried comme il faut shoes to danse at milonga and it was so painful 😭😭😭

You never use the heel in tango, only for special steps with no weight on the leg...
