"It's only done 24000 miles" I reckon that means it probably has had it's head gasket replaced about 8 times, it is after all a Maserati Biturbo

I think one of the things that killed Jeremy's car was the valves burned out. Had a Chevy Cavalier that had the exact same symptoms and sounds when it died on the highway. However that thing had so many issues, who really knows...
The three have real chemistry anyway I hope next series they are allowed to show it more and don't have to learn so many lines.

"Toyota Pious" XD
Does anyone remember some time ago when one Jeremy Clarkson crushed a Maserati Bi-Turbo on a show on the BBC for being, “an affront to one of the best badges in the business?”
You wanna hear this baby fire up? *intense asthmatic wheezing sounds*
Jeremy was right about the 430 being another Bi-Turbo. I looked up "Maserati 430" and the first thing that popped up was "Bi-Turbo."
I think the Maserati Biturbo looks awesome.
Faaark i laugh every time at them. So glad they are coming back for a 4th and 5th TGT series, albeit they are all road trips, which is what they do best!
Going to miss the trio when they're gone, doesn't matter if the show is script, or if some episodes aren't the best, just enjoying the Three while they're still around.
I kept laughing mostly the whole episode after hearing Jeremy fired up his Maserati.
That Maserati Biturbo looks like a Lancia Delta Integrale, doesn't it?
Absolutely beautiful motors the Maserati Biturbo, both but I prefer JCs. Reminds me of my Lancia HP VOX.

That Biturbo's ignition is like a ghost desperately trying to pry itself out of the engine
This was brilliant, like the old top gear!
What I loved about top gear was how natural it felt. The jokes were funny and the things they did were unexpected and when an accident happens it legitimately feel like an accident. Yes some parts of top gear was scripted but the grand tour was just too much. There are funny moments , but there many moments where the jokes and accidents seems like it's been planned and scripted for months. This is still ten times better than the new top gear but not as good as when the trio was in the old top gear. Relax on the script, let this remarkable trio do their magic.
hammond's reaction is epic :D
dat door creak tho.
imlove those channels that i never saw ON ANOTHER SHOW
Love the wheels on Jeremy's car.
“Get out, save yourself!”😂
"Less than you'd pay for a 6 year old Toyota Pious" xD Jeremy is a national treasure!
Jeremy's biturbo's startup sound made the whole episode XD he should've given it to me instead of abandoning it on the docks, just so I could hear that baby start ( hopefully ) every day!
the wheels on the red car are Beautiful!
Another great episode!
the starter noise sounds like it came from the soundtrack of the original "road warrior" movie when max and the gyrocopter pilot had to recover that mack fuel lorry...
That noise
Sound of the doors was literally epic

Hammond: "I dispute that." Well, it sure wouldn't be as interesting if they always agreed :P
1:41 the sound of diarrhoea 😂 But seriously, as the Shamal, they are aggressively gorgeous.
I really hoped James would drive to the british embassy in Paris (which would be quicker from Le Havre than Portsmouth by ferry) or by ship to the canal islands and so would technically be on english soil before the others without racing them :D Or something "clever" like that because he was so smug.
What episode is this is from which season of The Grand Tour?
Was it the door groaning or Clarkson's bones as he starts to get out of his version? :>)
That starter motor sounded like Sooty and Sweep having a barney.
That startup sounded a bit like the startup of a Supermarine Spitfire's Merlin V12.
I see people using the tired argument that "Top Gear was also scripted". While Top Gear had scripted elements, it didn't feel as forced as The Grand Tour. The difference between the two is that while watching Top Gear it still feels natural for the most part, where as while watching The Grand Tour, everything feels like it has been carefully planned out by a team of writers for weeks and weeks before the trio say and do it. It doesn't suit their style and I hope they drop it and return to their roots in season 2.

Mario Funnily enough I just finished watching this particular epiosde before you commented and I have some points to address in regards to its faults and what they're doing wrong. I feel like with Top Gear, they captured the feel of the locations they travelled too and the true opinions of the boys and their cars by focusing on the smaller things like conversations and true unscripted reactions etc. Where as in The Grand Tour, they skip all that, as well as the traveling long distance stuff and just show the action packed parts, which in reality is the stuff that would appeal to 6 year olds only. It ends up creating a disconnected feel, as if each episode has no real point or purpose, its just collecting the bits they think were most entertaining and shoving them together and if that ruins the flow of the "story" so to speak or the premise, they don't really care. And its a shame because you get a real sense that they are truly loving the locations they're going to, and relishing the road trips and all, but we don't get to see it. It skips over all of that where as Top Gear never did. I don't know I'm making sense but what I'm really trying to say is there is no sincerity or passion in it anymore, it just feels overly scripted, because it is, and thus lifeless and boring.

Mario It's also like they've given up. You can literally see stunt doubles as the cars drive past quickly in the final scene of this recent epiosde. They're not even trying to make it feel natual. They're embracing the over-scripted style as if we're all giving such wonderful feedback on it or something. It's utter rubbish and it really makes me miss seeing the trio in natural scenarios where they can play off eachothers banter and have actual arguments and conversations. Amazon have got it all wrong. It's not action packed hollywood cinematography and direction we like, its those 3 being themselves and reviewing cars. That's it. Don't bloody over-complicate it. It's that simple. Amazon have been lucky enough to have the trio sign on with them, and so as James May would say, "don't cock it up".

Mario Yeah it's definitely watchable, but just not massively enjoyable. The fact that Top Gear was so good also plays a part in The Grand Tours disappointment.
@MadFluffysterXaines

Do keep in mind the BBC are forcing them into submission, causing the heavy scripting for the first season, I've explained it many times on other videos but basically they NEED to avoid saying MANY MANY things. For example, James still cannot say "Cock" and they still cant say the African scenery is beautiful... I would say to give it a chance to go back to what we're used to in season 2.
@kurtbauer8012
7 жыл бұрын
Xaines That's no excuse for scripting everything, it just isn't. Essentially you're saying because they aren't allowed to say a few words and do a few things, that they can't be natural anymore at all, and that they must script everything. And I'm going to give the show another chance with season 2 because I love the trio and their time on Top Gear too much to just disregard them after one season. But so far, it's been more disappointing than enjoyable, and they can do SO much better.
The red one is a very good looking car from that angle
Remember Chrysler's TC by Maserati, the Maserati that didn't use a K-Car LeBaron body but might as well have? Well the Biturbo didn't use a standard K-Car Aries/Reliant sedan body but might as well have.
I thought this was insta so i double tapped the like button
I thought it was a cheap car challenge. But it was a race, and that too a very short one, they crossed a river.... that's it.
This was sort of like a old school top gear challenge video those were what made the old show great yes it's scripted but so was the most top gear challenges in a way
Erano due auto bellissime, specie la 430!

That thing makes the same noise my old vacuum clearer did before it died...
Why is the Biturbo making that noise when starting up?
those cars are gorgeous.
It's pissing down in the north of France, and Jezza says "I arrived bright and early." All right early. That's "Bright" for the coast of the North Sea.
Can someone pls help me, and tell me from which episode is this ?
That start up...sounds like a zipper lol.

Best top gear was 2005-2012 era the challenges you can't compare to any others or grand tour
There might be something seriously wrong if on firing up, your car sounds like HypnoDisc
Hard to tell if that creaking was the car or Jeremy
One of the best engine noises ever. If only maserati took that engine and put it in a better looking car.
How about Bentley Arnage, Brooklands, Azure...and Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph. Love their peculiar point of view...
