I have a Nintendo switch light with a faulty charger port I can send for you to have a look at and on the plus side it's content for the channel 😂

Having the same issue across 2 separate digitizers seems to indicate a connection issue on the motherboard rather than the digitizer itself.

check the touchscreen connector on the switch lite. had about 3 times same problem with spots not working on touchscreen. only little bit flux in the connector was the problem or ribbon wasn't pushed in fully.

Did you check the lcd connector on the switch lite? Cutting out on the center of both screens suggests to me that it might be a bent pin on the connector. Also thanks for the great video!

u should watch the soldering part while HIGH asf. I was swimming in that liquid thingy

BGA chip is 5.3v buck regulator, fuel gauge and the backlight driver on the complete opposite side of the board. ALJ = MAX8969EWL53 AJZ = MAX8969EWL50

you need to reflow the touch screen ic. there is for sure a broken connection under it. you will see that the screen will work properly again. or maybe there is issue with the connector on the board

I think the touch screen problem is on the board, not on the digitizers. Or it needs a recalobration. Either way: Sally is happy and that's good news.

Awesome fixes Joey! Good to see you excel at these repairs now. I do have 1 advice for cleaning up the flux. Instead of pouring the IPA and smearing it over with swabs, I'd recommend you try using paper towel and brush. The towel absorbs the flux when mixed with IPA and leaves the board spotless!

Could be connector on motherboard for the digitizer. Or new digitizer only about a tenner

Hey Joey i finally repaired my switch with loosen usb c pads in the first line in the motherboard, i could managed to clean the second line of pads and put a new charging port and works amazing, except only charges in one position, i dont know if it could works in the dock station, i think no. Thank you soo much for the support in one of you last streaming!

Great work joey been a subscriber for a long time and you just keep getting better mate quick tip I use a flash magic eraser to get rid of the marks on my repaired consoles it works pretty well on mark hope it helps mate god bless

Just a quick tip: buy a cheap pack of baby wipes and let them dry out. Along with a brush, they absorb flux better than chem wipes.

IDK about the Switch Lite, but touch is tied to the cartridge module on regular switch. I had touch go out on my son's after the cartridge stopped reading. Come to find out it was a faulty module but has direct bearing on touch as well. If the cartridge module is switchable on the lite and you used the same one on the second screen, try a different cartridge module instead.

Awesome Joey as always! in Spain, the second hand market (Wallapop its called, or milanuncios) is really hard to buy a nintendo switch broken in a good shape (always like you have it, with loosen bolts, bad repaired chargin ports, missing components... Really bad), and people pay too much for this consoles, buy one is like fight with cannibalisms to get a piece of raw food in bad conditions 😂

Yes but also I would never even bother with a Switch to begin with not a new one especially not a broken one. Soon as he mentioned it I was like well that is another console that wont be fixed and time and effort wasted and it was exactly like that. These things are ticking bombs, you fix one thing another thing breaks right there and then or the upcoming days. Next to thousands upon thousands of handhelds or consoles in general out there some people still wanting a Switch is beyond me ...

Could be the ribbon cable for the screen. If that is damaged, it will cause dead spots when touching the screen

Does anyone know for sure what that IC is? The one Joey replaced on the Switch. It is marked ALJ. I have a Switch Lite that is missing that IC.

I think the previous owner of the xbox might have opened it to swap the ssd to a larger one, and accidentally broke that connector, that's the only thing that makes any sense.

What made you swap the chassis of the Nintendo Switch Lite when you could swap out the digitizer instead?

It sucks that the "Nexus connector" isn't something more cool. Why would they name it like a starcraft 2 Protos building and than its just a component. Nexus connector ^^

This I don't understand, why do you place a BIG wire to replace a pad and expect all other pins to solder correctly? they're 0.5mm off the board!!! its best, IMHO to solder new connector and then reconnect missing trace with any wire.

Don't use MSX. Or u need to adjust the camera manually. I've turned mine off because I had the same issue.

Actually, no sticker makes me think it is a stolen item. Someone stripped off all the identifying marks including the sticker on the front, and probably sold it cheap not working to someone else, who cleaned it and sold it on to you. I don't think you will make much trying to resell it.

its good if you can get the items i found a job lot of speakers and got them for 30 and sold them all for 120 each was the same capacitor in them all what was blown replaced and all good my issue is i spend longer looking for cheap faulty items than i do actually fixing them

I wanted to try this so I bought a broken Nintendo DSi for $20. The only thing wrong with it was no battery, which cost me $8. I looked at how much I could get for it now that it works. About $20.

You could probably just replace the digitizer for less than a housing

You can only make so much profit if you're doing this solo/as a hobby. Because yaaaay for taxes. Made more than $600 on ebay this year? That needs to be taxed. We'll just take a good chunk of that income. It's so bullshit. For example, if you get a good deal on a broken 360 for like $30 then fix and sell it on ebay for $60, you still have to pay ebay's seller fee of roughly 10% (10% of $60 is $6.) When you bought the item you paid sales tax (8.5% in my state so $5.10) then they tax it AGAIN when you sell it. Like how is that fair?? Of the $30 profit you sold the console for, you're only seeing about $14 of actual profit. I know this is more of a rant, but this is just asinine. The ebay percentage I get. That's a service they're providing for you to sell. But an item getting taxed twice by the gov? They can absolutely piss off. Why can't I do the same thing to them and hold out my hand and say "Hey 8.5% of that is mine. If I don't get it, you're going to jail." Fair share of contributing to society my ass. Last time I checked, they just give it all to Ukraine anyway.

If I would get a Switch that thing would be out the door the same day don't care for it's condition or any backstory. I would never waste time and resources ever. It's 2023 so not sure why still some people bother, is it some hipster fad, is it being clueless I will never understand the mentality ... there are thousands upon thousands of handhelds that run games better and are built lightyears better on top of that cost half then these Nintendo nonsense. It's the same reason why most of the markets don't even offer Nintendo and never will. So instead of supporting trash just get what works and stop being a edgy try-hard folks. Granted there will be always a broken port or button, but those are minor repairs compared to the bricked ones that are mostly from Microsoft and Nintendo. Even PlayStation really stopped carrying anymore ... All of them are chasing these low effort stream boxes and getting away from consoles, "streaming is the future" yeah tell that to the person who have no internet access due to the location it lives in also not insane to use WiFi or burn the signal in general on streaming anything let alone a game. People will buy what works and isn't expensive while these corporations seem to chase them selves out of business and relevance all together. That is another mentality I will never understand. Where is the common sense and logic. Sony PlayStation basically revolutionized gaming and made us give a damn about games, now we back to 80s and 90s when corporate games are cringed upon and a wealthy privilege not something many want ... Is this what they wanted, idk but it's happening.
