I'm seeing people do something similar with old Nissan Leafs which you can pick up for song. Extremely reliable with very few moving parts to fail they're like the energizer bunny. The only thing you have to worry about is the remaining battery capacity. But Nissan offers a complete refurbished pack now for under $3000. Mine makes a great beater car to keep the miles off my F-150 and my wife's Camry. You literally can't kill the dang things. My original battery only gets about 55 miles per charge now but its all I need.

I actually bought a golf tdi last year for commuting reasons and once the fuel prices shot up to over $5 a gallon (central jersey) I all but parked my truck indefinitely at this point. Enjoy the new wheels! … and let’s go Brandon 🙄
