She looked quite happy with her new motorcycle. Not really new, but new to her. I believe a dual sport motorcycle is a great purchase for any new rider. They can learn to ride in the dirt and develop their skills to ride, which actually helps to ride on the pavement. Take care Firecracker, ride safe.

She has been riding street for a few years but I do think it will help and it is really fun to have a little light bike to play on.

Great video and great advice. I always look for scrapes on engine covers, fairings, mirrors, road bars, crash bars, frame sliders, etc. Some people will tell you a bike has never been laid down or dropped, and sometimes the things I mentioned are proof that isn’t the case. Got $1000 off a bike that way.

I should have mentioned that and I do to on street bikes. On the dual sport I expect it to have scrapes and scratches.

On my dirt bikes when I change the oil I pop the master link on the chain and lay it in my catch pan. By the time I’m done changing the oil the chain is good and saturated and ready to be wiped off and sprayed down with some chain lube. This probably isn’t the correct way to do but always got a lot of life out of a chain.

I am thinking I will have to press it apart and put a master link in but considering how it looks we will probably just ride it this year and maybe replace it next year if she really gets into riding it.

I always forget about Craigslist. I feel the deals on Facebook might be a little more legit (can profile creep on the seller) but that’s great you found a trustworthy seller there. What yourself Mike, firecracker might have the last laugh hahaa.

Last couple bikes I bought needed fork seals replaced .... not hard but time consuming .... so I try looking for main forkseals tire wear oil leaks shifting clutch

Well @Firecracker On 2 Wheels will be riding this on the channel some., I need to do a First Ride on it as well. I have worked on it but only rode it around the block otherwise.

8:43 33 years ago when I started my biking career I killed so many drain plugs, either stripping the threads or rounding them off to the point where we had to flip the engine upside down to drain the oil. Invest in a good torque wrench and use it for everything !

I have a torque wrench, I just don't don't over tighten stuff if I am not using it. I agree they are a good idea and I have over tightened stuff, if it is for case work where it really needs to be tight. I do use one, I am just careful to not over tighten drain plugs but your right I probably should be promoting others to use one. Thanks.

I always thought if I would do something like that ..meet in the police parking lot I did buy a new bike in 2009 and eBay through a flh it was the end of the season full dressed Harley .I don’t think anybody wanted it and it went for five grand less than what I could get here locally in South Bend they just didn’t deal with the local dealer it’s their highway .they don’t deal. So I bought a bike from Pennsylvania basic black. Had that bike for 10 years then went back to an evo 🖖🏼👍🏼.. sweet lady 💜

I let a friend borrow it for his girlfriend to get experience on and he changed the oil, put a new tire on it and fixed the fork seals so not sure what he used. I probably would have just used shell rotella like I’m using in my DR.

I aways go to there house. But I don't pull $$ out if they don't look cool. I always drive the bike before I buy . I try to take someone with me. If you don't have time to drive don't buy

Don’t smoke but might had Covid before they tested, I get winded easier now, I need work out but gyms been closed and not got place for it at home, now weather better I will be getting more exercise
