From what I've gotten over the years the price has almost nothing to do with the tone or the feel of the guitar. It's mostly quality of life stuff. How well it holds tuning, how long the materials will last, defects, etc. $500-$1000 seems to be the sweet spot.
That $20k PRS was outrageously nice. I would have probably ended up with the Hollowbody II too though, I’ve played a few of those that I absolutely loved. Great video man!

Unrelated, but you are one of the best teachers on youtube. Seriously, ive seen them all by now 😂 Very technically sound and great musicianship! Rarely do you see both in one. Many are either great players who can’t explain, or great at explaining but their playing isn’t as tight - so they overcomplicate with theory rather than practice. Anyway, I’m sure 52 week player is a great value, but some of us already have enough skill (or resourcefulness) that we don’t really feel it’s worth it. I suggest you make a few patreon tiers for those of us fall in that category. Maybe an extra vid / lesson a week, tabs on screen. Nothing too crazy ✌️
Shame the Ibanez wasn't tuned, or that a more expensive model than the GIO was not picked out. They're my personal favourite brand and I always find myself gravitating towards them, would have been interesting to see your take on them.

this was incredibly fun to watch
I recently did this in Alberta Canada, at a major guitar shop. My budget was 1000$ to 3000$ in an Strat style body. They picked 5 guitars, unknown to me at the time, a Fender American, a PRS S2 Custom 24, a G&L Legacy, a Squier and a Godin Session. Same amp and room, I went by feel and sound alone. I walked away with the Godin Session HT matt black. Love it.
Congratulations on the new guitar man, that one is a beauty Looks like you had a fun day.
Always cool to see your own guitar in the background, spied my charcoal PRS
This was fun, thanks! Definitely a good final choice too.
i like how he got the best littel melody on a squier and not on those other expensive guitars in the beggining
Great guitar, when i bought the PRS hollowbody i also got myself an acoustic amp and i love the sound of playing the PRS trough both outlets and amps at the same time.
Somehow brandon being more clickbaity is less clickbaity. Also loved that yellow strat

That Malmsteen Strat is the winner in the tone dept👏🏻
He should have handed him the guitars tuned, but other than that this was a fun video!
First time watching this video on the 5th of February. Happy birthday my dude! Hope you have a rock'n day Brandon! 🤘🏽😎
That Yngwie Strat sounded sooo good! Like astonishingly good.
Just about to buy a SE HB II Piezo, so pleased to see it was the blind-fold choice. Mind without the blindfold I would have probably gone for the other PRS, it was stunningly gorgeous.
i recently got a jackson SL3M Soloist rainbow crackle guitar, absolutely love it. really helped me with my learning due to how nice it is to play.

That Blue to Black PRS is just beautiful man! Beautiful in every way. You came super close to buying a 2K PRS , I'd have loved to see your reaction! Another awesome vid and collab, love it :D also beautiful guitar you bought!
Good choice - I was in Cosmo a couple of weeks ago and that very same PRS was in my final 2 but ended up with a Taylor T5Z - It was so close that I almost purchased both.
My last bass guitar I bought like this. I knew what I had in my toolbox at home, but I needed something to augment it with, so I told the clerk to start handing me basses. Then I did what you did and played them (eyes shut to prevent oogly-bias) to see what I needed, and I'm glad it wasn't a 20 grand bass that liked the most. It's too easy to fall in love or get repulsed by color, shape and brand. Try it out some time, people!

I was at cosmo a couple weeks back and it’s really cool that I’ve played a lot of these guitars
The spalted maple top PRS is GORGEOUS and AWESOME sounding. The clean jazz sound is to die. IMHO.
“We’re going to be oot and aboot” as an American this tickled me 🤣
I personally think that guitars with an amazing clean sound makes the best sound when distorted. I am personally running a Woodo Guitars guitar with two active EMG humbuckers and one passive single coil in the middle. it sounds crazy good when playing a clean sound thanks to those active mics together with my distortion pedal that I got at a garage sale that is so god damn worn out in the body that I have no clue what it is makes the meanest sounding metal distortion I have ever heard

This was an interesting concept that just wasn't really planned that well. While Brandon played the guitar, Roy should have been grabbing the next guitar and starting to tune them so they were good to play when handed over. Still a fun video though.
How I’ve missed your videos.

My god that is just unreal out of the box. Might get another strat just to put those in because it just sound absolutely beautiful.

That Spalted PRS just about made my heart stop... Gah d@mn that was a beautiful guitar!!! Also, I hope that was a typo on the price of the SE Piezo... Otherwise you guys are getting ripped off in Canada. They're almost a thousand dollars cheaper brand new here in the U.S. for that exact model in that exact color...
@rogerj9110

I wouldn't say ripped off but we get really good deals on guitars in the states because they're made here. If you go to any other country and try to buy Fender, Gibson, PRS you can expect to pay double sometimes especially if they're not a licensed retail dealer. There are also things like tariffs and high shipping prices all coming with the risk that the guitar doesn't sell.

@@MainPrism Sorry I know my statement was for US made guitars but it goes the same for MIM fenders and such. I always look at guitars when I travel and it's the same for Epiphones or the SE line. You can do a quick google online to see the prices yourself. I totally agree with ya paying 2k for this guitar seems like a rip off but I just realized this was in Canadian dollars and 2k in Canadian dollars comes out to 1,471.29 USD so maybe that's why we feel it's so much. 1.4k seems a lot more fair.
