The Ecto-1 mainly used in GB: Afterlife is the original Ecto-1A complete with real rust, they just converted it back to look like the original 1984 Ecto-1, just with a few mods.

Yup, some stuff like the propello ray light doesnt work, and the 2 front round lights stay on constantly instead of pulsing on and off. Some oversights for sure.

@@gerv55 That's true, like I mentioned - albeit with some minor modifications. The cars are 70+ years old and some, if not all parts, are hard to come by nowadays. :)

@@BrokenInside365 - Yes, it was confiremd that the original Ecto 1-A was used for the Afterlife Ecto 1 - and it will be used again for the next GB movie (Afterlife sequel) which is slated to release December next year. (It was officially confirmed at Ecto Fest this past June by director Jason Reitman)

I am aware that 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex cars aren't easy to come by nowadays, but if I were fortunate to come across one in good condition on the outside and inside a little rusted that someone wanted to sell at a fair reasonable price, I would definitely buy it, take it off of their hands and convert it into my very own film-accurate replica of the Ecto-1A down to the last detail and I would use the Haynes Ecto-1 Owner's Workshop Manual to have something to go by.

5:32 😂 why dose it look so funny to see the 1A being pushed?? But I'm also not really a fan of all the bright colours that their set has tbh... (I like Barrett Jackson's mostly black set better, as you can actually concentrate on the cars themselves - especially with something as much colour as the 1A, it's colours kind of clashed with the sets bright yellows and reds) It was also funny how they pushed the mystery machine so they weren't in the shot

The ECTO-1A is a thing of beauty.

Pretty awesome. Hopefully he gets the correct siren effect and gets the roof rack completed. The missing satellite, ect. The two bright flashing air strip lights just under the grill. Awesome tho.

I have 2 red OPTIMA batts for my 96 Caprice wagon ecto3 replica 1A powering everything u c on urs but MORE!!! 4 corner clear strobes, 1 head light wig wag, underglow, in cab glow, Fenix siren, 2 MX7000 code 3 multi color plus ARROWSTIX which require alot more pwr then the xl florce, the Whelen 9000, unity spotlights, 3 show cameras, cb+amplifier, tv, msg boards n center rotator, now the msg boards I have spliced w the center rotator which required a minimum 1k inverter sadly only lasts 30s bc all the lights at the same time the boards just scramble, ALOTTTTTTTTT OF PWR!

I recommend checking out the hearse and professional car groups online, and setting autotempest search alerts if you can! I found my 1962 hearse on autotempest, an ebay listing from a wholesaler

Incredible. The whole Ecto 1A messed up because of the red in the stripe at the top. In the original it is orange. They can keep this. I don't want to anymore.

Well the guy announced it as the Ecto 1. The fact that he didn't announce it correctly is pretty sad. There are significant differences between the two, and professionals should know the difference. The fact that you got it is awesome.The Ecto 1A is way better than the Ecto 1. I live in VA and i'm 18, and my life goal is to create the ecto 1A myself. You buying such a beautiful car gives me hope. Great job, it looks great, and if you ever come across a 1959-64 Cadillac Hearse that you don't want, hit me up. Great find!

@@clayrauch9718 Um, no. The lights are more vibrant, Bill board sponsoring them, stripped paint job, it's all so hilarious but awesome. It definitely looks like something Ray stanz would make to attract attention, and fits the feel of sponsoring. The ecto 1 is better practically in every way, but the ecto 1a will always be my favorite for how silly/awesome it is.

@@halolegend1172 Too over the top in my opinion, its like the design brief was along the lines of "glue as many lights to it as possible". It just feels overly cartooney compared to ecto 1, i mean whats the story with all the multicoloured lights? Blue and red made it feel a bit more grounded vs it looking like a rolling disco setup.

this ecto is nice but nothing can bet the blue light ecto from the first movie.

@@DYFEA No harm no foul, dude! I loved to see it, nice to see someone even MADE an Ecto 1A, I dont see many of those as they favor the classic look. Also old Wreckto-1 might be a parts car, but I'm still pushing for that red 'The Ambulance' paintjob just to see the old boy get some TLC ;P You just watch, it'll be some red paint with a white cross and 'EMERGENCY' written over the headlights, then using the engine to train yourself up to keep the Wreckto-2 running, and then 'well I havent got anything for Ecto so I'll tinker a bit more' and you'll see XP

If i had money.. i would have taken first the a team van, then the little mystery machine, and third the . No! Only ecto 1. Not the second one. No I have to like my car(s). I never watch 1 2 ,3 4 . First trial is mostly the best . Trials to refresh i don't like!

What do you mean you can't see the floor or "get an eye on it" because it is coated so much... Dude. if there wasn't a floor, how would they have coated it. Also none of that coating bonds to rust anyway. So, there's no way there wouldn't be a floor or that it would be in such poor condition that you'd have to worry.

That type of coating can act like a bag and contain any moisture that gets under it if it's done wrong, and when it's caked on it can be hard to tell if it's happening or not. But the cars very clean so hard to imagine it was done poorly
