Seems like in the DC area it is still mostly crazy with many houses going in less than a week for close to $100K above asking.
I doubt they cut rates at all this year. And to think they were saying 7 cuts or some such nonsense at the beginning of the year.

They said 7 rate cuts to trigger people into buying. Reverse psychology. "Buy now b4 rates get low again and there's bidding wars again." Now people are in unaffordable situations.
My Zillow home value was $167,200 yesterday. Today it's $222,000, a 33% jump. What's going on?

@@CarynGardiner Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, where my property taxes went up 426% in 2023 so I sold the house later that year.
Up 4% inflation 30% isnt that a loss of 26%

Houses in my area appreciating at about 2 1/2 % a MONTH.

House a block away sold last year , went on the market last week and went pending in 3 days , for 35 % more than selling price from last year.
