I remember those mini-reviews in the back of the magazine back in the day. Electronic Gaming Monthly did it, I think Game Informer still does it. Mini-reviews are super helpful. Good stuff guys.

Wartales isn't the type of game I would usually play, but after seeing this review, I genuinely think I might have to pick it up - it looks like a lot of fun! Great video, as always 👍🏻

Warning: Wartales is in fact currently in an unplayable state. It crash every 15-20 minutes and sometimes you're locked because some menu are not visible or not closable. I would wait for a patch

I need a series like this but that's just avoid, avoid, avoid, so I stop adding games into the wishlist.

I think it reminds me of Mount & Blade (overworld mechanics anyway), just with tactical turn-based combat. But I agree, to the wishlist!!

If you're a fan of XCOM or the Divinity Original Sin games I highly recommend giving Wartales a shot. It's like Balders Gate and XCOM had a one night stand, and that baby turned out....not as good as Balders gate 3 admittedly but still as good as XCOM. It's a lot of fun

Great little series, 3 quick, but still very well covered and detailed reviews. As you said, it definitely reminds me of video games magazines back in the day. How lucky are this generation btw, getting to see games in motion. We had to wait for a glimpse on Gamesmaster or Bad Influence.. I still remember the Donkey Kong Country special at Rareware studios. I recorded it on VHS and watched it over and over, blown away by those graphics. Looking at fresh screen-shots every month built the anticipation and excitement for release day. Ah great times 😅

I miss those magazines with cheat codes and reviews, and the manuals. Not looking forward to the all digital future, especially after Playstation getting hacked right after Microsoft.

The only farming sim I really care for is Farming Simulator, the OG. Also, Days of Doom looks cool

Looks like Mineko's Night Market will be the sim I pick up. As an avid dino fan, I'll be picking up Paleo Pines on a good sale in the future. Farm sim fans are definitly getting spoiled recently and I am here for it! Thanks for the vid!

Wartales look sick, but I'd love Wartales to be with physical copy so my brother and I can pass back and forth whenever we want to progress the game. 40$ for no-physical games makes it hard. Wishlisted still.

Definitely picking up Days of Doom the second it goes on sale, love me some Darkest Dungeon type of game. Will you be doing reviews for Baten Kaitos HD and Gloomhaven? Nice looking workplace btw.

It definitely crashes multiple times an hour with some blocking your progression in battle. Quite a shame, the game looks amazing on the Switch

​@@SwitchUpYt totally agree. It really won me over on the direct, plus youtuber chessrook44 is doing a let's play of the PC version that just really delighted me. (His reaction to bee bombs is priceless.)

With so many varieties of these cosy sim type games recently it would be awesome to find out which ones are the best value for money/cream of the crop. I don't think I want to just play just an alright one. Maybe you dudes could do a video in the future highlighting the great ones or something? Just an idea.

Wartales has crashed so many times here during my 10 hours of gameplay that im gonna wait for patches before playing... Hope they consider cross progression with Pc (like Divinity 2 with time as well...)

I heard that war tales was buggy I'm glad to hear that you have had only one bug.

I grabbed Paleo Pines since it seemed right up my alley, but man does it start slow. That, combined with some janky/annoying controls, is making it hard for me to drag myself back to it. It probably gets better later on, but atm it's definitely one of my less enjoyable purchases. That said, Days of Doom looks interesting. I may have to add it to my wishlist and keep an eye out for a sale. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

I don't know if you already saw this game, but Bilkin's Folly will be out next Monday. It looks really nice. It's an adventure/puzzle games. The art style + the animations are really beautiful. PS: you can pet the dog. 😁🐶

Paleopines is undergoing various updates to fix several crashes that happen when you have too much going on on your farm. Hopefully they come super soon!

Wartales looks awesome, but will wait for sale or patch.

Wartales looks like this game I used to play years ago called Lord's of Magic.

I really like how a lot more farming sim games have come out but I also believe that none of them can compete to Stardew Valley. Closest I’ve seen that gave me the same feeling is Graveyard Keeper.

How do you two find the time for all these games it’s insane seriously. Anyway, thank you for doing so because your content may be the best on this platform when it comes to video game coverage. God speed boys

Assuming backwards compatibility (which it better have or I'm out), I really hope that the next Switch from Nintendo magically fixes all the performance problems of all the awful money-grab ports. Of course, that won't fix microscopic text and other UI elements lin handheld mode, but it would make a whole lot of unplayable garbage instantly playable.

Hm. No "kill it with fire" games this time... Kinda disappointed that i cant use the lotr "CAST IT INTO THE FIRE! ISILDUUUUR!" quote this time. 😅

Gutted about Paleo Pines, had me eye on that one! Hopefully a future patch and maybe DLC would go some way towards improving the experience but it should be decent from launch… probably wait for a sale to satisfy those dinosaur farmer dreams 🤟

I probably wait for sale. I like the dinosaurs after playing the demo I felt something was missing, there's limited area for decoration the house can't be entered. I started playing RF3 the game play is better although dated. Otherwise, I'll wait for Fantasy Life, Girl who steals time as I really enjoyed first game on 3Ds.

@@SwitchUpYt I’m so glad!! - it’s a banger! I say that, even though I’m averaging two crashes in a four/five hour session, the auto save is pretty robust so it’s never more than say ten minutes lost. P.S. Think of Gloomhaven as Wartales with a card based move/combat system that adds sooo much strategy to every move. What with Redemption Reapers and the seventh “Mercenaries” series title earlier this year, I mean you wait forever for a Merc Troop and turn four turn up at once etc etc 😄🫶

Wartales looks right up my street, I might leave it a few patches and then grab it when I have to take a long trip and need to exercise the old brain. Looks a lot nicer graphically than Kings Bounty II(which was still a good game if a little janky). Would be a good one to see in an all patched up video down the line maybe eh?

Wartale is looking like a pick up. My boys are taking over my PS5 and it looks like I will just move to the Switch fulltime soon.

I grabbed Wartales and love the gameplay but I've had it crash to many times to count. I even lost a save because every time it loaded it would immediately crash.

Great series, but I’m still waiting for a Set It On Fire.

The thing that didn't work for me with Paleo Pines on steam is the font size when you are talking to characters. This is likely very much a me thing--I'm legally blind--but the text size gave me a headache. It looks better here, but I'm not sure if that's how the video is set up or a font difference on the Switch. My bf bought and returned it because the character designs for making a guy were not appealing to him.

I love the Videoseries and a big OOOFFFF Avoid goes to Vampire the Masquarade Swansong. Really graphical more sluggish than the MK 1 port. When I was first saw the screenshots in the e shop, I was like wtf is that😱😭 So I watched a gameplay Video and it goddamn hurts to see that poor port...😐😐Hope the patched the game really up. Mortal Shell by the way got a new patch, where the performance seemed a bit more stable and graphicalwise a bit better with a bit less dithering, fade ins from the enemies, but the dynamic resolution is a bit too much, better than before patched up but it could work better🤔

And really graphical bombastic wasn't the game on PS5, when I was watching some Videofootage and I don't know how bad or well was the PS4 Version including the differences. But yah this Switchport is really a dissapointment for an more slower based game...gotta wait your review on this.

Paleo pines sounded cool but after seeing this gameplay footage…. I’m gonna hold my tongue so I don’t say something rude.

Wartales is borderline unplayable for many of us - crashing every 5-20 minutes, graphical glitches and artifacts that bring the whole game down. I always rely on Switchup as my go-to for game and performance reviews, and I bought it based on this video, but I think it's important that people know how bad Wartales is. Until it gets better patches, I HIGHLY suggest people do not buy it.
