Before COVID I was training to for the 200 fly. I did 10×200s at least once per week. I would do lots of fly sets during the week but usually drill types. One of my favorites was sprint 75 free with no breaths on the last 25 of free to simulate the hypoxia that you get from swimming fly, than finish the 100 sprinting fly.

One of the main pools, that British swimming use for national age group, masters and diving is currently closed. Another long course pool, which is my nearest one and the one my county uses for county comps is closed until March, due to Maintenance. Makes me glad i'm back training this week and the pools i work at are open. Feel for all of those swimmers and divers who can't train.

Cody - I am a 57 year old butterflyer who just jumped back in the pool 3 weeks ago after a heart attack killed me for 30-40 min. So much has changed. Can't find my favorite hindwells - compy goggles anywhere. Now there are short and long fins for kicking and swim paddles have holes in it. Would love your advice on what goggles, paddles and fins I should start using? When I finished my college career, I was a 51. 100 yard butterflyer, 21. 50 fly. Not Olympic material but not slouchy either - at least in 1985! I need to get back into the pool and lose weight, get heart healthy, and maybe compete again but I don't ever see myself in a swimsuit (frightening image). Love your vlog and watch it every day. Such an inspiration so thank you. Got any suggestions? Funny - TYR was just making its mark when I finished. Thanks so much.

Hey Cody, I love your vids!! I have a question though. My old clubs season just got cancelled because we swim at The OSU pool and they've closed down campus for everyone except students. I had to join a new team. This new team requires that we train with and compete in TYR suits and gear. I guess they're sponsored by TYR and it's part of their contract. I'm more of a speedo and arena guy and haven't used TYR products, like ever. What would you recommend? I still need to buy paddles, fins, goggles, and a training suit.
