Thank you
My son Took a photo of a "Hawk" He said that It was BIG, but I Can't ID it. It was Up High, and had a Light Uniform underparts. It also had a Striped Tail, and I Think that it's a light Red Tail, but not With the Three wide Black Band's on it's Tail. My Only Other Guess is a Rough Legged Hawk, but There Are No Shoulder Spot's. I have a Photo, but I Cannot be Certain What It Is, as I Wasn't There When He Saw It. I Am Well-read On The Hawk's and have Seen the Migration Overhead Here At Our Home, and It Was A Day Long Event! What Luck I Had!
Thank you! I have been wondering what the meaning of buteo and accipiter was. I faithfully watched the whole Braddock Bay hawk watch season this year trying to get a better handle on raptors

What about kites and owls?

I didn't include them since they aren't seen often at the places I hawk watch. Hawkwatchers in the southeast may be more familiar with kites but they become quite rare as you get into the mid-Atlantic and farther north.
