50 Raptors of India - Top Birds of Prey - Documentary on birds

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Birds of prey, also known as raptors, include species of bird that primarily hunt and feed on vertebrates that are large relative to the hunter. Additionally, they have keen eyesight for detecting food at a distance or during flight, strong feet equipped with talons for grasping or killing prey, and powerful, curved beaks for tearing flesh.
Here are the list of 50 raptors in this video. This video was taken travelling around India and few raptors are taken when they visit India during migration. Hope you all will enjoy our raptor collection in India.

Your documentary is amazing as all the species that You presented are. You made a huge job!!! I love Raptors and I particularly enjoyed watching the Owls and the Vultures because I have never seen any yet. On the other part, I completely agree with Your concern about the decrease of their population. It would be great if the governments understood that Nature is more precious than economy. Without Nature, the Planet would be a completely non-interesting pay-per-view world, and eventually even Man could not survive. Thank You for sharing the beauties of Your Country, dear Friends! Have a wonderful week, and I extend my wish to all the wild creatures around You!

You will really enjoy the owls & vultures, they are majestic creatures!! Yeah "Non-Interesting Pay-per-view world" is really a very worrying scenario and current governments are focused only on economy. All over the world Nature is under distress. When first world countries itself not taking any big action on that, what action would a Government in Third-world Country would take !! Seeing the economic and development push in India is very scary :(

@@IndianBirdVideos appreciate the time of the team to bring up this fantastic video. I spotted two black winged kites 10-15 kms apart, bird number 39 in the video. 2nd Kite Location - Singahalli, Devanahalli Taluk, Bangalore. Time - 1105 hrs perched on tree, photographed and videographed it from phone...quality is below average. Wish I had DSLR camera

Exactly our thoughts too :( Really worried about the future of the environment and the creatures that live on it ! Don't know at what point a fullstop can be put on development. The bird population has decreased drastically in the past 30 years, even after so many reports and studies, no consideration about this situation from the authorities around the world! There maybe few stories how birds were rescued, but overall the population of birds have gone so low, that's the sad fact :(

    2 жыл бұрын

Yeah, there are birds that look similar but little details to be noted to tell the difference. Besra , Shikra, Sparrowhawk all look alike on the first glance with similar size, coloring. But the eye color, stripes on the neck (gular stripe) , feather patterns are different for these birds. U learn these with years of observations in field and reading a lot about birds 😅 we are planning to do some video on Bird identifications soon , hope u will like that 🙂👍🏽

Golden eagle is found in India. I guess that should be the most powerful one.

You are right, we used to buy a lot of Falcons from India in the early 1970s, was the Lugger Falcon (Falco jugger) listed?, if it was i missed it!. We also used to get Saker Falcons (Falco cherrug) & Red Headed Merlins (Falco chicquera), they were listed here as Red necked Falcons the Indian Bird traders in Varanasi always called them Red headed Merlins, & i always will. Very rarely we got offered Black Shaheens (Falco perigrinus peregrinator) a sub species of the Peregrine falcon & a very handsome Falcon. We got offered Goshawks (Accipiter gentillus) but as they are generally smaller than European Goshawk i don't think any were imported to the UK. The only other hawk species i occasionally saw brought in was the Shikra (Accipiter badius) although being similar to our Sparrow hawk they couldn't touch one when trained. I had 6 licenses to bring in Lugger Falcons in 1974 just as the Indian Government banned their export!! missed out big time as i had already sent the money & i didn't get that back!!

Just going by the way environmental clearances and policies are being executed right now, one can clearly see that raptor population will continue to decline.
