Dr Ananthu S founded Xylem when he was studying MBBS at the Government TD Medical College in Alappuzha, Kerala. Ananthu had raised eyebrows by choosing the college despite clearing medical entrance with a rank which would have got him admission at more premium institutes.Dr. Ananthu S is a medical doctor (MBBS) with a passion for teaching. His unique teaching methodology, known as the “XYLEM model of Hybrid Learning,” has garnered attention and acclaim. Xylem Learning, founded by Dr. Ananthu, aims to assist students in their preparation for competitive exams like NEET, JEE, and KEAM UG1.
Notably, Xylem Learning recently entered into a major merger and acquisition (M&A) deal with Physics Wallah (PW)-a popular edtech platform founded by KZreadr-turned-entrepreneur Alakh Pandey. PW is acquiring a 50 percent stake in Xylem Learning for an impressive sum of Rs 500 crore over a three-year period1. Xylem had roped in South cinema megastar Mammootty as its brand ambassador. Mammootty also featured in the edtech firms ad and launched its learning app. Xylem today has more than 30 KZread channels and 10 tuition centers. It claims to have over 30 lakh students who learn for free and 1,30,000 paid students in online and offline mode. Ananthu aims to take the company to Rs 300 crore revenue in FY2024, up from Rs 150 crore in FY23.
