BUSHCRAFT TRIP - HOT TENT, SPOON CARVING, TABLE, RACK, REINDEER SKIN, BILLHOOK, YAKUT KNIFE
Фильм және анимация
I am enjoying a few days in the forrest. Trying a new tent and a homemade billhook. It's late winter here in Denmark and it's about -1 to +8 celcius. I am doing craft and enjoying some great food. This is the short version - here is the long version • BUSHCRAFT TRIP - HOT T...
--------------------------------
Location: Denmark - previous viking country. West coast of Jutland - sand, big sea, spruce and pine forrest. Some of the most remote in Denmark, but a lot of people in Denmark so limited how remote it can get. A lot of birds and deer. No bears only a few wolves - nothing dangerous for campers. If you want to do the same in Denmark do you need to be the owner or get the owners permission.

A few questions:
What are you eating?
Cabbage, eggplant, beans, onions, tomatoes - with oregano, salt and "English sauce". I did forget the meat at home... never done that before, but it happened this time.
What wood did you use for making the spoon?
Oak.
Was it a branch you used for the rack bindings?
Yes - green branch from pine twisted into "rope". You can make most wood into "rope" like that.
Why add moss on the table?
Keeps the sticks better in place and no small side branches can catch what ever you lay on the table or just fall though the tabletop. .
Why didn't you do a better job on sewing the sack?
It's an old one, over 20 years old and the material is not strong any more. I did just quickly, while cooking the food, prevent the big hole from getting bigger. I will replace the stitches when I get home and sew all the holes with nice straight stitches - or maybe just consider if it's time to replace the sack with a new one.
Did you like the billhook?
Yes, it did a fine job and I will use it more in future videos.... But I do like axes better. Having both an axe and a billhook would be very useful in a camp like this.
Is it a Sami sewing kit?
Yes - homemade.
What is that background noise?
Only nature sounds - I am about one mile from a big sea and that sounds sometimes similar to a highway. The rest is just wind.

Betram, you are amazing and I just love your love for old ways, using old tools and getting what you can out of nature. I love every minute of every video you do and its so refreshing to see someone not talk and just go at an easy pace. Your style is simply "art". Keep it up. I've learned so many new techniques and find myself trying to think like you would in the bush. Today I was out walking in the woods here in British Columbia Canada, noticing all of the forked sticks that I've never noticed before, imaging how they could be utilized :) Love everything you do. - Cheers :) Paul in Western Canada.
Fantastic I love how all your surrounds are so soft and the area is damp. We are in terrible drought in my part of Australia. I watch this for relief from the dry. Thank you
What an awesome tent you have there! And there is no such thing as the perfect knife, but that hatchet goes a long way...
Thanks for chilling me out this fine Sunday 👍👍👍
Beautiful! I knew the billhook had adventures of its own soon, but what i havent seen is your sewing kit! Great inspiration thanks again
I'm so happy to see this channel grow! Much love!
When I want to get my blood pressure down, I always come on to visit Rune. It is always beautifully filmed and full of lessons of many types.

I don't know why but from all the things in these videos I like the wood stove the most.
I wish there was more people on KZread to have less talk and more actionyour videos you know exactly what you're doing and you don't have to have commentary to tell every step I really enjoy your videos. 👍👍🇨🇦
Those who know, do not speak. Those who speak, do not know. - Lao Tzu. Appreciate your videos and creativity. Most people think these trips are an escape to party and relax. WRONG! Everytime I go out in the woods it's work, work, work. Nothing comes easy, nothing comes free...even basic stuff like going to the bathroom properly or getting water is work. Surely makes one appreciate what they do have when they get back home!
Well the forest just looks more amazing in your video .
Good to see primitive woodworking skills being kept alive!

The table frame you made is called a kings seat in the army. We use it as a latrine, a place to sit and conduct business over a dug trench. Ideal for groups needing a place of ease in a more structured camp. Cheers 🍺
Aynı ben. Çok güzel işler yapıyor , üstelik laf kalabalığı yok. gerçek doğal sesler.

im going to get me one of thease tents , they are less for cot beds base camps and look more closer to the stove and minimalist since you get a smaller space warmed as you sleep on the floor . I approve this is a amazing then and who ever loves nature should learn to get the right equipement it goes hand in hand

like i love so much your video, i show them to my mom, and she's passionate, like just living in countryside in the forest, is my dream, it doesn't cost a lot, that' the thing i like, i hate money it's stupid, and everything i love isn't related with money, it's related with nature, like the clouds, it's so beautiful, the forest EVERYTHING, i love your video because of this too, you show us beautiful and peaceful place in your videos, that is just filled with nature
Damn i wanna do stuff like this
ola!! sou do brasil assisto todos os videos muito legal seus acampamentos .Parabéns pelo trabalho
Buen video saludos desde Ecuador
Watched the long (52 min) version first, then about two hours later watched this short (13 min) version. Half way though the sort one I was thinking, I wish I’d watched the full one again. The full length video seems more relaxed and in keeping with the spirit intended. This short one jumps from one task to another too quickly. Still good though. Still some of the best bushcraft camera work on the Tube. Keep up the excellent work. We all enjoy watching and learning as much you obviously enjoy doing it. Cheers. 🏴
Wonderful!
It is my Bday. So that is cool. This video is perfect because I just just just woke up

I'm a Japanese but your tool called "BILLHOOK" is really similar to our machete "Nata (鉈)." Even though your nation is far away from our country, it is really interesting that we share this likeliness.

Yes - your tool the "Nata" was part of the inspiration, when I did resource billhook/machete designs, before making the one I use in the video.

@@BertramCraftAndWilderness I never knew that our cutlery is known to the world... However, I can see your originality on your blade and there is a handle on the tip point. With holding it, you can shave woods easily and steadily. It is a great idea that we didn't have.
