Thanks mate. I had a job a little while ago where a customer wanted one of these decoded but I wasn’t able to do it 🙁

I’m not entirely sure what you mean but I presume you’re talking about fixing the keysafe? I’ve never had a problem doing it the way I do to be fair but always looking for better options 😊 Thanks for watching buddy

I thought you were quiet at times because you were just talking quiet. Being on a job you don't want to be talking loud with customers around. Save your £150 and let us all just turn up the volume a bit on our devices. The key safe - my mate would swear by resin for a job like that, he swears by resin for all jobs, that's why I call him Resin Man. I did say a few videos back that you would hit 500 in no time at all. Your content is excellent 🙂👍🏻

Ah mate. When the customer is around is the exact reason I talk quietly sometimes. But I’ve just spent the £150 on a new Bluetooth mic so all will be load and clear for everyone from now on. Resin Man could be right!! Although I’d challenge anyone to get that key safe off the wall 😁 Not long to go for the 500 mark 😊🙏🏼

£100 Wow, Just did a similar job for a fraction of that. Changed an old Mila for a nice new Versa with a thumb turn. luckily the key wasn't broken inside. it wouldn't have been long though. Keep it up.

Thanks Des. In all fairness, £100 is pretty much average for a cylinder change depending where you are in the country. I charge a little bit less but I know others that charge £120. Thanks for watching mate 😊🙏🏼

@@fortifiedlocksmithswakefield no I don’t stock them mate. I mostly give the customer all the options and let them know the cost implications and let them make their choice. If they need the lock changed urgently but want a 3 star, I’ll chuck in a Versa temporarily while I’m waiting for the 3 star to come 😊

I thought this vid would be about you taking out all the car kit from the van. Where are you getting your locks from for the home side of stuff send are you ordering it as you need it or are you carrying those 3 stars as van stock.

@@brighton_locksmith you should video it on time lapse. Just think all that space you will now have in the van!! Have you got a new 2 in 1 to replace it yet. When you do then a vid on cutting a few keys would be interesting.

@@matthewrichards552 it’s all gone 😊 Looking forward to planning out the new Van layout. I haven’t got a new key cutting machine yet! I’m a bit reluctant to spend £1000 plus on one so will keep an eye out for a second hand one I think

It is so fascinating how many locks over there use the profile cylinders? Curious, are you purchasing your replacements/supplies in the UK? or do you wait for overseas shipments etc?

Hi mate love the content you are putting out I am very interested in becoming a lock smith myself but I have very little experience, been looking at a 5 day city and guilds course. At what stage did you decide to go self employed and how did you go about gaining more experience with all the different lock types etc. thanks

NOOOOOO......don't use rawlplugs , use concrete screws for secure anchoring. Silicone rubber in the holes might cause corrosion to the screws as normal silicone liberates acetic acid, we have to use non corrosive at my work. The combination of silicone and rawlplugs would mean the safe can be cold chiselled off the wall , no keysafe manufacturers supply rawlplugs for fitting, always concrete fixing screws. Also the house insurance would need to be notified of it's fitting and the product used as some key safes even when properly fitted are not that secure, the model shown costs £60-£80 and can be fitted by anyone with a drill and drill bits...NO RAWLPLUGS OR SILICONE.....
