Burton 2CV Parts - Big Bore Kit 652CC instruction video

The big bore kit is a conversion for the standard 2CV6 engine (602CC) and brings the cylinder volume to 652cc with a compression ratio of 9/1. This results in more power and torque. The tolerances on the dimensions of the piston and the cylinder are well within the original specifications of Citroën. The cylinders are new castings, they are not a bored out old cylinders. The applied cross-hatch hone pattern is optimized for this use, and applied by machine. The kit comes with the pistons and rings allready fitted, and with jets for the carburettor. The jets are specifically for the double barrel Solex 2CV carburettor. The venture sizes of this carburettor are 26mm and 18mm (marked on the side of the carburettor).
This cylinder kit needs to be run in. We advice you to not drive faster than 80 km/h or 4.000 rpm for the first 2.000 kms. After this period, steadily increase your speed. Only after a carefull run-in period will your engine reach it's full power potential.

The power output of the engine is pretty healthy. Is it time for an engine rebuild? If so, what needs to be done? Any suggestions will be appreciated!

    change the valve oil seals, costs about 5 quid, time about 3 hours, even without a valve spring compressor- a vice will do. don't forget to redo the torque for the head after 1000 or so km (you can go 20% + on 2nd torque).

  • @leneanderthalien

    @leneanderthalien

    7 жыл бұрын

    The torque with 652c is ~18% higher as with 602cc...and 32 to 34hp...but for optimal relability, installing the 652 kit need a perfect condition crankcase, and a bigger oil radiator, best with thermostatic regulation...with use of modified Visa cylinders (aluminium nicasil with bigger fins), a bigger oil radiator is not needed...

    @@leneanderthalien the oil cooler is not working right, half of it is full of air, exit must be on top to let the air bleed, is a common mistake, think about before replacing it. Other way is getting the out tube going to the top of the cooler but welded in the lower part. You have to bleed the air inside and if both tubes are in the lower part it will remain...
