As bad as his health was, he still had his sense of humor and sharp mind.

For all the idiots who think he's washed up ... Burt came to Massachusetts to a convention last year. He was signing autographs I stood in a line that took 2 hours to reach him. He was gracious and exactly like I thought he'd be. He will always be "The Bandit" A legend in his own time

Aging aint for wimps! Burt was such a good-looking man in his younger days, fit, healthy, and handsome. One thing he never lost was his great sense of humour. An excellent actor who wont ever be forgotten

yeah you say it, indeed, Burt Reynolds was a Sir ...

He lived a life very few could only dream of. The 50's 60's 70's 80's 90's even the 2000's.

So sorry that he has left us. Not many actors are both brilliant on screen, AND totally genuine off screen. Such a classy man.

He has always had a great wit....though I truly think his humor more borne of sadness/loneliness. I really wish he and Sally had refound one another later in life.

The Man is a true legend. Funny, talented, great actor, and handsome . My favorite image is the way he laughed in Smokey and The Bandit.

RIP Burt. I had the pleasure my family and I meeting him in person back in the 90s. What a gentleman and all around nice guy. You will be missed!

Respect for this legend. Talented, handsome, humorous. Burt's the man!

She did a great job interviewing him. She was sweet and respectful. Some older people sometimes don't care what they say and it could have gone badly.

"The Last Movie Star" is such a touching film, and Burt is incredible in it.

Can't believe he's gone. Rip Burt.

Always when a movie with him available in the german tv I had a very close connection with the tv set, wunderfull actor, miss him.

Great actor, athlete, multitalented man. RIP Mr. Reynolds.

He was always an absolute class act - a true legend. RIP

True Legend. Sad to see age take its toll on him. But it happens to everybody if you are around long enough. Glad we had Burt for as long as we did. RIP

In his case, I don't think it was just age. He was also very sick. I think that if he didn't have his sickness, he would look a lot better than he does here.

He’s a legend in my book ! Hate to see us get old .

I was such a big fan of Burt Reynolds... watch him in Deliverance or Boogie Nights..This man was talented, funny, charming and an excellent actor...you meant a lot to so many of your fans. RIP Burt.

He was not underrated. He was a legend and still is.

Always a great actor and will be missed and remembered for the laughter he brought to others.

When you see sally field and Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the bandit you can see that Burt and sally definitely have a connection. It’s amazing to watch and very joyful to see how they relate to each other with such eaze

Ariel Winters' wardrobe in this movie was ridiculous. Whoever thought putting her in that pair of shorts for the entire movie was a good idea, should be horsewhipped. WRZ 2022-08-19

There's no other actor like this man. The Johnny Unitas, Johnny Cash, Babe Ruth, John Wayne, and the Richard Petty of this decade of acting. You will be missed Mr Reynolds. Ride on in the heavens.

This man is a legend. He was my childhood hero bar none. Smokey and the Bandit made a huge and lasting impression on me when I was 7 in 1977. I hope this new film does him some justice and it’s not a thrown together borefest. He deserves better and hopefully he got it. Can’t wait to see it.

Burt is one of the great ones. Right up there with Bronson, Wayne, and Eastwood. Two of my favorite films of his: Sharkey's Machine and Deliverance. Smokey and all the others were great too.

To this day I still know every line from Smokey and the Bandit, R.I.P Burt and thanks for making my childhood so much better. Us Scots are hard people but I admit that I shed a few tears when I heard the news, Legends never die and you live on in many of our hearts...

Almost six months later he died 😔 😢 what a tragedy burt was more than a legend in Hollywood RIP burt

Him swimming back to the beach in "The End" is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

What a world 😢it is sad to hear a father didn't show affection to such a great human being and talent ❤

I loved Burt's last film, 'The Last Movie Star'. His role is so close to heart and so real, one can't help getting choked up in the scene where he visits his ex wife in the nursing home. In my opinion, this is one of the finest roles he's ever played, and the most realistic. I knew him personally. He was a great human being. He was generous and kind. I'm proud to have worked with him on some local projects. I miss him.

It’s a shock, it seemed like he’d never grow old, I am sad.

He was brilliant in Deliverance , The Mean Machine and excellent in Hustle. Missed but not forgotten.

I was at that Wizard World too -- just because Burt was there. When he walked out on stage with his cane, I almost burst into tears. I hate to see my heroes get old. But I sure loved being able to see him, meet him and take a picture with him. I shot video of his entire Q & A.

He hated everything about Boogie Nights, especially the director. After Boogie Nights, the director offered him a major role in his next film, Magnolia. Burt said, "No, thanks."

fox on the run, Hollywood sends out screeners and vote cards, and it's supposed to be anonymous, so who really knows why he didn't win. But if that's the reason, shame on them for it! But it's no longer the 70s, and a lot of new people are involved now, so maybe they have evolved.

Burt became ill and lost a lot of weight, people in the industry thought he had aids virus when the virus was rampant. He couldn't even get his phone calls returned .

You will be missed Burt more than you know. Sleep well brother and God bless.
