Burt Reynolds and Detroit Muscle Salute The Bandit Trans Am

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Burt Reynolds, who is known and loved for his iconic "Smokey and the Bandit" character, died Thursday at the age of 82, according to his agent Todd Eisner.
PowerNation shop, Detroit Muscle, was lucky enough to catch up with Reynolds a few years ago. The guys met up with Year One president, Kevin King, who is very familiar with the Trans Am as Year One is in the business of hard to find classic parts and restoring iconic muscle cars. The Bandit Trans Am happened to be one of their latest creations at the time.
And to make it even cooler, Burt Reynolds signed on as a consultant. Reynolds said the car was a "flood of memories" and explained his and Jerry Reed's first reactions to the original car. Burt was definitely an icon in both the movie and automotive industry and he will be both remembered and missed.

@@shedmanx3640 Yeah, he really made the Trans AM a household name. He possibly helped sale more Trans AM than any TV commercial. The Car company promised Burt a new Trans Am for life. He only got 6 and then they reniqued on their promise. Burt could have sued, but just excepted it. Burt Reynolds and Trans Am . They just go together. Thanks for the reply

I came up from from fla in the summer of 76 at the age of 16 and missed my chance at being with my aunt at the time they where filming parts of the movie there at the area of her home at Fitzgerald and Mundies mill lake. But the story of what she told me of what and what happened that hot summer was something. The time of filming there, she had no problem of having the filming crew and some of the actors to come to her shaded porch to cool off and have some lemonade. She said that Jackie Gleason looked like he was fixing to drop ha ha. Was also told that her daughter “my cousin “ was watching from the distance from the side of the lake during the filming of lake shot where the police car hit the water in the lake and with all the crowd of people “women” trying to get to Burt he saw my cousin to the other side of the lake by herself watching the filming went to her and ended up going out to dinner in the “Trans Am” thought that was pretty cool. R. I. P. Burt, my cousin Jackie, and my aunt Sarah Waldrop. ......

I've always been a musclecar fanatic since a kid, mostly Olds 442s, but the Firebirds and Trans Ams I've always have had a soft spot for as well, I was 7 when Smokey and the Bandit came out in 1977, and my mom took my best buddy and I to go see it, I've ridden in many T/As over the years, buddies that owned them in hs, driven them as well, only two men made these cars as famous as they come and that was James Garner and Burt Reynolds, rest in peace to both those Hollywood greats, both genuine men.

R.I.P. Burt Reynolds I had a 1978 Trans Am all because the Bandit had one.... I had more fun in that car than any car I've ever owned in the history of my life so far.... The last year or so I've been scouting eBay for another one.
