Unmotivated, burnt out, overwhelmed... this was just one of those days. So, I decided to pick up the camera and vlog, step by step, what I did to turn it around and make it a productive day. Perhaps motivation isn't something we find... it's something we create. So, let’s do it.

I love your very small note about not making your hobbies into a job because I'm also a huge advocate for that! In a world that is obsessed with hustle culture, enjoying things just to enjoy them is absolutely an act of resistance (and also an act of self-care!) Its bonkers how often people tell each other to make their hobbies into a side job, we are allowed to just have fun!!

Yes!! I kept feeling FOMO about this whole hustle culture, yet forgetting that hobbies are meant for us to enjoy them! Thank you for sharing this!
Oh I need this today! This happened to me yesterday afternoon and I felt so awful because I just let the day slide away from me. I'm always excited to watch your videos but this one is particularly wonderful!! 🥰

Right there with you! It's the worst feeling and there are big feelings of disappointment and not being able to get it back, but we got this!
Thank you so much for making this video ❤ I was feeling the exact same with burn out and no motivation. I get so overwhelmed with all the tasks I want/need to do that I often just freeze up and avoid doing them completely. I finally made myself learn Notion thanks to you and your templates. I feel so much better now that my tasks are well organized. Tackling my list won’t be so bad now! 😊 Super grateful for you and all you do!
This video is so precious, thank you for it! Loved to see a bit less structured vlog as the day goes in real life flow! This was super comforting to watch 🫶🏻✨🌿

Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing this, I've been burnt out from trying to tie loose ends at work 2 months prior to my long awaited family trip, and unfortunately developed a fever on the very same day I was supposed to fly. That meant missing out the very trip that I had been preparing for. I was really upset. Even while taking a week's break to recover, I was very down, burnt out, unmotivated, overwhelmed, beating myself up for falling sick. After I have gotten better, I picked up my hobbies again with the remaining time I had with my leaves. I started spiralling down into the same rabbit hole of "how do I make my hobby a hustle?" because I felt like I have wasted a week just trying to nurse my health back, I could finally recognised that that was toxic self thoughts. It made me feel crippled to even start on my own hobbies. Thank you for reminding me that we don't always have to turn a hobby into a job, the whole point about pastimes are to help relax ourselves, slow down and be in tuned with what sparks joy within ourselves.
Jules this vlog is so so so motivation for me and I was truly waiting for this vlog and I wish you have a best week ahead 💕💫😊
This was soooo helpful. I’ve been feeling in a slump since I have my work + my own business and I’ve just been feeling like I’ve been slacking. I haven’t had motivation and felt completely burnt out. This was so helpful. I really loved this video

First of all...CUTE TENNIS SKIRT. Secondly, shedding light on this topic is MUCH appreciated. I've been feeling unmotivated all week and this just gave me such a boost! Your perspective is always so refreshing. Lastly, Fourth Wing is one of my favorite reads of the year!! Could not put it down. (Unpopular opinion: I liked it better than ACOTAR). Can't wait to hear what you have to say about it.

Can you talk about your art? The pieces behind your desk and above your black cabinet are so neat!
your videos are calm and relaxing and that timer is cute and a good idea.. do you have a link for it?
Ahh I can’t believe you are reading Fourth wing! I also recently entered my fantasy book era. I’m all for booktube Jules era 😂
haha I love your conclusion about enjoying your hobbies. I know the feeling of always needing to feel like you're being productive or else you're just "wasting time" 😂

I thought I was safe from Fourth Wing talk here---lol I thought wrong! I love kdramas and I'm currently loving Twinkling Watermelon and Strong Girl Nam Soon, while finishing up Our Blues
Any chance we can have the miso soup recipe? Lol. Loved this video, thank you!
Hi Jules! Great video, very helpful and inspiring. Do you have an amount of hours that you aspire to work every week? Working as a freelancer I've been going back and forth between working too much and too little, so I wondered what's your take on weekly working hours since you seem to have a great work-life balance. Greetings!
I'm in the process of starting my own design business and I'll need to create a block schedule to really get that work life balance (2 kids under 3 and need to reconnect with hubby) both working from home and cafes etc. I've seen a couple of your videos on this like google calender ones and potato days. But I'd love to hear your suggestions one which videos you recommend. And or more content on this in future. Even like how you took a lunch break and set timers I have a habit of either working through or getting super distracted by my house
This video is timely! Where's the sweatshirt from?
Hello Jules! What is the timer product you use that you click on in the intro?
Hi Jules! I just found you and loved this video. Also fell in love with your house, we have very similar decor taste. And loved that from some of your videos that I just watched you seem to have great housekeeping routines and systems in place. I wanted to ask you: 1) Do you guys use a house cleaning service? My husband and I have been struggling to keep the house up to my standards of cleanliness 😆 since we're both very busy and I can see that you are too, so I'm wondering: Is it possible or is outsourcing the answer? 2) Do you just use baking soda and vinegar as laundry detergent? I hope you can answer, I'd love to know your opinions 🫶🏻 - Sam
Can you please share the recipe 7:05 ❤
What is the brand of your walking pad?
Needed this today! Also, I'm on house arrest all day as well, I live for the credit haha
