According to this video, the trend was popular a month ago. For how long? What is the trend cycle for TikTok? Minutes? (Other answers: looking up at the sun and sneezing, the time it takes to breathe, one cycle of taking your phone into the kitchen from the living room.) TikTok cycles don’t make the world go round. Anyway it was a beautiful cake and a fun idea.

The concept has been around for a while, unfortunately you're going to get a ring of charred paper under the icing border and it's all going to taste a little burnt where it's touched. I saw someone recommend putting the burn-away section off the actual cake, as well as using flash paper since it burns fast and doesn't leave those little black bits.

Wafer(?)paper burns quite slowly, while flash paper can make quite a large flash of flame, and the top of the cake (mostly the icing on top) has to be scraped off because it will have a burnt taste to it. These look good on videos, but are generally impractical and/or dangerous if done irl at a celebration.

@@deeb6270I wish people would stop acting like TikTok microtrends mean anything off of TikTok. I haven’t heard of this before. This video is from two weeks ago. According to this video, the trend was popular a month ago. For how long? What is the trend cycle for TikTok? Minutes? (Other answers: looking up at the sun and sneezing, the time it takes to breathe, one cycle of taking your phone into the kitchen from the living room.) TikTok cycles don’t make the world go round. Anyway it was a beautiful cake and a fun idea.
I am gonna be in my early thirties this year and still, would be thrilled for a cake like this. It is fabulous

I like the slow burn, it feels more satisfying to give the transformation more time to look at. Not to mention that ring of fire came out perfect😅 Great job!

Maybe a good idea for a burner cake would be the famous SpongeBob 24-25 joke. The top wafer would say “hey Patrick I thought of something funnier than 24” and once it’s burned the bottom sheet would reveal “25”

The concept has been around for a while, unfortunately you're going to get a ring of charred paper under the icing border and it's all going to taste a little burnt where it's touched. I saw someone recommend putting the burn-away section off the actual cake, as well as using flash paper since it burns fast and doesn't leave those little black bits.

Wafer(?)paper burns quite slowly, while flash paper can make quite a large flash of flame, and the top of the cake (mostly the icing on top) has to be scraped off because it will have a burnt taste to it. These look good on videos, but are generally impractical and/or dangerous if done irl at a celebration.

Definitely!!! Could do her original dress with two layers below it transitioning from original to blue and pink, or for grins and giggles a mash up of blue and pink (the fairies throwing the different colors at the same time).
That sparkle tho! And that was amazing! Loved it! Cinderella is my fav Disney movie
As a fellow baker I absolutely love this cake from start to finish and the burn away transformation was incredible and beautiful. You've got an amazing talent. Your masterpiece just so happens to be delicious and fun to burn every kids dream cake lol 🎉🎉 and the edible glitter was a genius touch making it sparkle like the fairy tales

Beutiful cake. Never heard of this burn away cake. Did you know Cinderella's gown was not really blue but a silver hue? When they redone the video with better color the silver dress come out with darker color.
