I just found your channel by accident and subscribed. I love exploring the thousands of excellent locations for real traditional Thai/Lao or Burmese food. Rarely have ever had a bad meal anywhere in Southeast Asia. I have the greatest respect for any foreigner that has made an effort to learn Thai. In my opinion as a host of a channel, they are more reliable and trustworthy with the information they offer.

i love how ya'll do this!! my daddy did it & I've always done it even way b4 social media, just word of mouth, but sharing a business WITH INTENTION of not only helping the business grow but SHARING THE FLAVOR opening others up to something they may have not even known existed. since 08 & twitter, facebook, then Instagram etc, I've took pics of all kinds of food experiences & loaded them & tagged them. when people are doing their best to keep their quality and standards high that means EVERYTHING, especially the past year. they bless me & I want to do whatever I can to bless them! so happy for ya'll & so proud of how far you've come in so short a time!! may the Lord bless you and keep you and cause His face to shine upon you all!

I remember him saying something about some of his happiest moments being eating street food sitting on one of those small plastic chairs, at a small plastic table, while motor bike zip by right next to him. The smells of exhaust fumes mixing with the aroma of his mysterious bowl of yummyness. I like to think of him in that way. It's not hard to imagine him enjoying this meal too.

My wife and I had a chuckle when you put your old video with the ‘stash :) She said that you look much younger without the mustache. Enjoyed the video as always. Thanks for sharing.

Lucky u two are enjoying the Burmese food. Specially missed the Tamarind soft tender tip of the leaves salad. I am in Northern part of US can't get those leaves. I wish I can tate the salad again. Still remembering how the yummy Tamarind leaves taste like. U can also added the leaves into the soup. The soup will be sour and so yummmy

I always struggle with what to order when I go to a Thai restaurant. Takes me about a half hour just to go through the menu. I always want everything on the menu. I am enjoying watching this. Good food as always.

Yahooooo Mel!!!!! Of course I would love to share a meal like this with you sometime here, I’m pretty sure if you wanted to make any of these, the mango would be the most easy to make it your home. None of those are rare or unique ingredients, whereas some of the other ones have stuff that you pretty much could only find with a bit of luck, maybe a Burmese community near you

Oooo those salads looked amazing , Li's face when she tried the pennywort one was hilarious though. The only disappointment was you didnt have that eggplant curry that looked gorgeous in the pot , that will be my order when I come🤣🤣🍆🍆

OH hohhhh Shella!!!! Hahah the reminder of Li's face for this oh my, I kinda feel bad now, realizing that for 2 weeks now sort of a highlight of the video has been her (sour/bitter) face reaction to 2 strange herbal flavors. Ah. She deserves some more BBQ sometime soon.

Hi Joel! Great video and I love the opening music. The Burmese food looks so delicious. I love to eat foods that are rich in color and that are raw. There are so many places you’ve shown that I want to visit when I come to Thailand. I hope they allow tourist soon, even the non vaccinated. I’d be willing to quarantine for a few days. That throw back with the mustache! Ouuuweee! I’m always amazed at how a mustache makes men look totally different. I love how shy and humble the people were. To see them prepare the food in front of you also gives way to the freshness of the food. Watching this made me really hungry. 😁👍🏽

So good! Nyunt, did you say that you are from .... Bhutan?? I did have a friend from Northern Myanmar, he said that he could converse with Bhutanese, AND he mentioned that a few dishes might be familiar... any on this table you notice?

@@JoelsTastyRide I'm from Myanmar originally and grew up there as a child, also lived in Bangkok Thailand for seven years. Now in the U.S for 30 plus years 😊. That's how I know and love most Burmese dishes and many Thai dishes as well.

I'm loving the woman honest reaction to some of the dishes lol she's so funny, the faces my mother would make when I say try a new dish🤣👍🏽

I had the fermented Tea leaf salad in Siem Reap in 2010 and was sooo in love ... on every twice yearly trip to SE Asia (never went to Burma) trying to find this dish again! I had it once in Rawai in Phuket... i totally agree! It’s amazing!!!!!

Narelle!!! Very cool to see your name again, that’s a really cool memory from Cambodia having the fermented tea leaf salad, I would not have expected that :-) and again good find in Phuket, I guess that is closer to Myanmar than Cambodia, both are very cool :-) way to keep your eyes open!!!
