    I found the recipe on your website but it is an image, not text, so I typed it up for myself (with adjustments). Here it is for those that would like a text copy. I plan on making this tomorrow. Burmese Chicken Curry 1 chicken or equivalent pieces, cut into 2” chunks ½ tsp turmeric 1 tsp salt 3 stalks lemongrass, chopped 2 “ piece of ginger, peeled, chopped 3 sticks of turmeric, peeled, chopped or use powder 2 cloves garlic, peeled 1 onion, peeled and chopped 2 tsp masala curry powder ½ - 1 tsp cayenne, to taste 2 Tbsp oil 1 ½ - 2 cups water 4 large potatoes, quartered 1 tsp fish sauce 1. Toss chicken with turmeric and salt. Let stand while preparing curry paste. 2. To a processor, add lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, garlic, onion, curry powder and cayenne. Pulse, scraping down sides until finely chopped but not smooth. 3. Heat oil in a frying pan. Add curry paste and fry until aromatic. 4. Add chicken and stir to completely coat with curry paste. 5. Cover with water and stir to combine. 6. Add potatoes, cover and simmer on low for 20 minutes. 7. Stir in fish sauce and simmer 5 more minutes. 8. Season to taste. 9. Serve with rice, carrot sticks, green chilies, and lime wedges.

    That is Thai style curry she made... I've had real Burmese Curry and it's more spicier and oilier with little to no water and added lemon grass in the end to enhance the spice. Not bad though for a foreigner.

    what is the difference between thai massaman curry and burmese masala curry ? what is the taste like ? how do they taste ?

  • @LaurenYatesPonytailJournal

    @LaurenYatesPonytailJournal

    9 жыл бұрын

    The ingredients are quite different, even though they both look like yellow curries. Each have their own unique curry pastes, and massaman also has peanut and cassia in it - making it taste sweeter. Some people also add pineapple to their massaman. Also, masala is the word for the spice mix used in that curry.
