Burbank neighborhood constantly threatened by dangerous intersection
Residents in a Burbank neighborhood are tired of being threatened by a dangerous intersection that’s been the source of crashes for decades. The most recent crash was captured on home security video as a car smashed into a home after failing a turn.
Instead of turning from Vanowen Street into Buena Vista Street, the car slams straight into the garage of Regina Reyes’ home. “We just left the house a few minutes before because I wanted to go to the store to return something," Reyes said, in shock the crash happened so suddenly. Reyes and her neighbors are frustrated with the constant threat of reckless drivers in the area.

Vanowen st actually has big yellow warning signs saying the road is ending, so i dont think its vanowen st, i think its the drivers fault for not paying attention, and probably looking at their phone, real victim here is the home owner, and its probably the drives fault, not the cities

Nothing new with the tesla drivers
To many speeding drivers nowadays it was not this bad before I know I'm in my 60s
Wow, I use that intersection all the time and had no idea it was considered dangerous. There are signs and lights and you have your eyes of course. It's only dangerous for those that are speeding, not paying attention and don't know the street ends there and you have to make a left or right turn.
I’ve also lived in Burbank for over 30 years and yep it’s the most notorious house ever. I was told when growing up that it used to have a bigger chimney and a car took it off when it flew over the roof of the house. The barriers they have there now, and personal traffic light to exit the property weren’t there until the late 00s or early 10s. I always wondered who lives there and how brave they must be. Then you’ve got the train tracks and noisy crossing as a neighbor!
US should do away with intersections and change it all to roundabouts.
Do something to STOP these accidents!!

Nor should the vehicle or intersection be at fault. The incompetence of this driver for risking not only her life but her mother & daughters based off distracted driving is beyond disgusting. Shame on her, put the phone down. You’re lucky you didn’t kill anyone.

Who is going to pay for the damages to the home owner his insurance , the car crasher or the Caltrans?
There's going to be a massive class action lawsuit against Tesla. My friend says hers will randomly accelerate.
Move the necessary utilities to install bollards with retractable ones for the driveways when your home they're up when you need to leave drop them. Otherwise step up enforcement ask homeowners and any business owners in the area for the use of driveways for unmarked units marked unit's and motorcycle's and just do a loop of the area.

There was a bad car crash in lompoc California usa in front of my apartment this afternoon. 1 person went into ambulance .
I worked there for 4 years and never saw an accident and only heard of a 3 prius accident on vanowen. Didn't even know this street was prone to accidents due to there not being anything about the street that would make it feel more dangerous than other streets.

They do have flashing yellow lights that say the road ends and there is a big guardrail in front of that pink house God those poor people. It's a perfectly safe intersection If not for the drivers. Vanowen is one of the scariest streets in town
There's an intersection like that in East Hampton Connecticut and the homeowners put giant cement blocks in their front yard to protect their house.... Looks hideous, but it doesn't let idjits drive into thier house anymore...

Tesla drivers and Prius drivers are not paying attention. Today, an lausd truck was turning left into a school driveway and a Tesla behind him, instead of stopping behind, kept driving. The driver of truck stopped before hitting the idiot.
