@@raullay I just looked at the image for the Movado Vizio, that is also a nice looking watch, but definitely she made the right choice going with the Bulova, especially for the amazing accuracy it will offer over even most high-end watches.

Just bought this exact model, been holding out for the right price for quite some time now (I'm cheap) lol. I already own the Bulova Marine Star 96B272 and love it. The 96B272 was my first "higher end" watch and also the one that got me hooked on watches in general. Great review by the way, very thorough and informational. Thank you and keep up the good work!

Nice Shawn! Believe me, I also had this watch on my Amazon wishlist and was waiting for Prime day for it to drop before I bought it too lol. I wouldn't say we're cheap, we're just patient and resourceful buyers 😉 The 96B272 is a beautiful watch. The dial reminds me of the Bulova Moon watch a little (96B258). Enjoy your new watch! Btw, did you have a hard time deciding between the blue and yellow version? I did.

@@DemCrumblies I personally had no issues choosing between the blue and yellow versions, yellow is cool and all but just not my thing. The blue was a must have since spotting it way back. I did however contemplate the 98b229 in addition to this one. Also, I do see the similarities you pointed out between the Marine Star and the other model you mentioned.

Yea the price that this costs and the build quality is fantastic. The only improvement really would be to have sapphire, but I can't complain much otherwise. Enjoy your watch : )

Btw, I was able to get this for a great price during Amazon Prime day, so if you aren't in a rush to buy one, that might be a good option.

@@BigJoe2148 Hey Joe, I consider my wrist a little small, but I like to wear heavy watches, so even though the size of this watch face may not suit my wrist, I still wear it because I enjoy it. I don't give much mind to what others will think. I would say that if you put it on and it feels comfortable for you, and it doesn't look like the lugs are going over either side of your wrist, then it's probably fine, but I still say that you should wear what you like : )

Bought one of these few years back, loved the heft of the piece, however I just could never feel comfortable wearing such an oversized watch. Gave it to my son.

Hey @Tatted 1969, I hear you on that. I love feeling the weight of the watch, but it can definitely be a hindrance for some tasks since it protrudes a lot.

A really great watch, more accurate than a rolex sub mariner, built like a tank(you can hit someone with this). Not for small people though..

Agreed, this is a great watch and super accurate. I already ripped a part of my jeans when this watch rubbed up against the fabric. It is suited for larger wrists, but I still bought it because I couldn't pass it up!

@@swiss86watches Hey, I didn't set mine based on an atomic clock. I'm happy to hear that you're loving it. Did you get the band resized yet? I bought a basic watch kit to resize mine, it's pretty easy.

I just bought this beautiful piece for $700 and I got to say I am loving it, it looks even better in person. This watch is not as heavy as the reviews I have read on this watch. In fact, it is quite comfortable on my wrist. This watch is well built. My only complaint is that is watch is not Solar. Other than that, I am really loving this watch.

Hey L.C. Boogie, yep, it's a wonderful watch! The trend seems to be to always go towards making things as light as possible, but I still prefer to know I'm wearing my watch. There was some adjustment time due to the height because I shredded some of my jeans off with it's sharp angles in some places. I wish it had a sapphire crystal to match the toughness of it, but overall can't complain. Enjoy your new watch! Btw, did you get the same reference as mine, or the one with the yellow hands? I had to debate between both, but I'm glad I went with the blue.

Yeah if you are not use to wearing a large heavy watch, then I can definitely understand how uncomfortable it can be. I own many watches ranging from as small as 42mm to as large as 63 mm from Invicta, Citizen, Movado, and of course Bulova so I am use to all sizes. The one I purchased is the one with the yellow sweeping hand. Wow, the watch did that to your jeans? Yeah I wish it had a Sapphire Crystal as well. I also wished it was a Solar Charged watch. But other than that, I am loving this watch.

@@l.c.boogie1219 Yea, it's good what you can adapt to wear anything because it just opens up a bunch of watch opportunities. I think I saw the yellow version had two models, one where it showed the 262 khz and one where it didn't, if I remember correctly, but this watch just looks nice in any configuration. Yea I think I damaged my jeans with the screws at the top and the knurling when I grazed it. It didn't cut right through, but it thinned it out. I also slammed it into a wooden door frame. Door frame took a hit, but no damage to the watch though 😉 Yea Citizen watches can spoil us with the solar charging. Thanks for watching my vid btw 🙂

@@DemCrumblies yeah, I love all kinds of watches medium and large sized watches as long as the time piece is a high quality piece. Like you said, with me being adaptable to any size and style of watch opens up many doors to me. Yeah my Citizen watches along with my Casio Pro-trek have spoiled me in regards to solar charged watches. I definitely love the movement of this Precisionist piece. It was a pleasure watching your video because your video was very thorough and and your review of the watch was filled with great detail. Yeah there has been many times unfortunately when walking, my watches has hit a wall or something like that. But because most of mu watches have sapphire crystal displays and dials and the watches are very sturdy and well built, my watches have never been scratched nor damage.

@@l.c.boogie1219 Haven't heard of the Casio Pro-Trek line, but Casio also has solid watches. Yep, having sapphire gives a lot of peace of mind and the clarity is better too, at least it looks clearer on my Citizen watch. Appreciate the view!

I was so fed up with replacing the Credit Card thickness Battery every year, that I was about to chuck my Bulova Black and Red Precisionist in the Dustbin !!! But then as a last resort I removed the Backing Plate and Screw and Fitted a larger CR 2025 and Screwed the Back of the Watch down tight !!!! It has been running perfectly for two and a half years and still has a good battery. I really love this watch now I have rectified the stupid Design Fault by throwing away the battery backing plate and screw !!! I reckon the larger battery might last 10 years which is fantastic !!!

Hi. What an excellent review! Very precise. Just placed an order for the 96B175 Bulova Precisionist Champlain - the one with the yellow sweeping hand. I saw so many YT vids for this model that I think I was conditioned into buying one. Looking forward to taking delivery and will be using your video to familiarize myself with it. How has your Bulova Precisionist been so far - do you still have it and use it? Edit: Actually unlike you and other reviewers I knew the 96B175 yellow sweep hand - and configuration of the dials - was the clincher. Can't get enough of just watching the yellow sweep second hand - reminds me of a Swatch I used to own back in the early nineties.

Hey Amit, that's exciting to hear you will get your 96B175 soon! I still have mine and wear it in rotation with some other watches, and it's still working great. That's great you know you want the yellow hand right away, I had a bit of a decision when I ordered mine, especially because the yellow hand version had a bigger discount than the blue hands on Amazon when I ordered it. Yea, the sweeping hand is so smooth. Which swatch are you referring to if you still remember the reference number? I'm always curious to see more watches.

@@DemCrumblies Hi. The Swatch I am speaking of was the Swatch Irony Secret Agent Chrono. About 43 mm diameter, three dials, blue dial, matching blue leather strap and skeleton caseback. Around 15 mm thick. Unfortunately I lost it in a move. Made some great memories with it.

Will you adjust the band yourself, or take it somewhere? I bought a kit online and I adjusted it pretty easily for a first time user.

Hey James, I wear it for social outings and while I'm going about daily errands and stuff and it's great. Depending on your work, it could get in the way though. I mostly work on computers, so if I keep it on, the bottom of it damages my laptop pad easily since it's all metal. I really love the watch though, I wear it any chance I get.

Plan on Getting this watch. Have you taken it for a swim, is it really waterproof?

Hey @Leshenka, nope I haven't. The most it's experienced is just getting wet in the rain or when I wash my hands.

Got this from my fiancee as a gift but I noticed that whenever I change it to chronograph, the seconds hand moves to 3 and not as 12 as you mentioned. Is there anything wrong? Can I fix this? My watch didn't have the instructions.

Hey @Efrain Nunez, good question. I also was trying to decide between these two, and the 96B175 was cheaper than the 98B316, but I ended up getting the 98B316 even though it was more because I liked blue more. From what I could tell when I compared them, the movement inside is the same. The small differences I noticed were that the 98B316 has a darkened outer perimeter around the glass that contrasts with the silver color, whereas the 96B175 is the same silver color to match the rest of the watch. Also, the way that 300 meters or 300 M is shown is different on both watches. As well on the Bulova site, it shows the case diameter on the 98B316 as being 0.5 mm larger. Here are the links for both if you want to compare, but the differences are quite minimal: www.bulova.com/us/en/product/98B316.html www.bulova.com/us/en/product/96B175.html I think both would look great, whichever one you buy, but I thought that the blue would fit more occassions since the yellow is a bit more bold. Still very accurate to this day. The precisionist line of watches is accurate to within 10 seconds per year. I don't have anything to test that claim from Bulova, but I haven't noticed any issues.

No sapphire crystal was the deal breaker for me 😕
