Great review. When i saw this in the display case it caught my eye, I looked at it for a while then kept it moving. Went back three weeks later trying to decide to purchase or not, it looked great on one hand but a little over the top on other, asked to look at it and boy did this thing have some weight to it! Loved it! Bought it for half of the retail cost. I get, especially ladies, wanting to look at it closer and giving compliments all the time. Once I got a little too close to a wooden door frame and it took a nice little chunk out of it, not a scratch on the watch - wow! This is one of the best timepieces I have ever purchased. If you're thinking about it, just go for it. You won't regret it.

Ive got 2 Bulova Precisionist watches both over 10 years old. Over those 10 years I haven’t had one issue with either of them. They are simply the most reliable watches I’ve owned over my life. They’re comfortable, look great, and they tell the time. Never let anyone convince you you need to spend over $1,000 on a quality watch when you can buy a Bulova.

The dial IS carbon fiber, and the hex screws on the bezel are real functional screws. I own this watch, and I enjoy it. I like it better than my Omega Speedmaster reduced automatic. In fact I am selling my Omega tomorrow.

Greg Coe I'm not saying you're lying. I also own this watch and absolutely adore it. But would you really? That's saying a lot. But I also believe that not only this watch, but the Bulova Moon Watch is superior to the Omega Speedmaster Pro. It wasn't the Bulova who's glass popped off on the moon.

Beautiful review, very complete and fair. I own this very model #96B175. It's the King of my collection because of its bold and massive design. So much to say about this piece but you've covered it well. I like large case watches so this model fills the bill for me. You are absolutely correct regarding the 1/1000th sub dial @ 6 o'clock it's so fast that my fingers cannot keep up with it, but it is, as you say, nice to know this chrono has a level of super precision. Hence the name...wait for it...Precisionist! Cheers. 11/2/2020.

I ordered one of these because of the smooth seconds hand, tho I am disappointed that it changes to dead-beat in chronograph mode. I would prefer the date at 3 pm (and even better if it had a day). I really like that it is at least 46 mm and heavy. After watching your video I can hardly wait for mine to arrive in the mail. I just ordered the black and red Precisionist a couple days ago. I based my selection because I thought the watch while very busy was also very well designed and esthetically pleasing. However I also based my decision off the advertised 46.5mm watch face size. Now after watching your review I now know this isn't really accurate when taking the crown into consideration as well. Bummed out because I'm going to have to sell it as 47mm is really the max I can wear on my wrist. Very sad, but hey that's on me for not researching as throughly as I should have. Hope all who have this watch get to enjoy it and I envy you. Cheers

I don't think a lot of the people are getting that the whole point of this watch is to be over the top. If you've heard their head designer speak in regards to this watch, he says that it's meant to be big and a "statement piece" and it's not for everyone. Personally I would not own one, but on a bigger wrist I can see this looking pretty good

Yes is true is a watch that goes unnoticed. In fact my next watch would be a Bulova Precisionist Chrono but the other model. I mean the 97B122, Fits a lot better with my style. Those watches are perfect. 10s a year, and I can tell from practice the precision from real life generally beats the paper.I use a 20+/- s/month Miyota 0S60 and in the real life gets away just few seconds every 3 months or so.. is very accurate!

BIGCHIPSKI You can pull the crown out if you really badly want to. but to be honest there is no need. if you are not using the split second features the battery is around a 7 year battery so there is no need to save the battery by 7 years or even 5 really you want to have the water and dust keeping checked on it. It wont damage the watch by any means to pull it out. a lot of watches ship this way it'll just keep the watch stopped. but on the other hand gears are meant to move. so I would think you need to keep it running to keep it lubed for say.

so, went to the store.... this t hing is HUGE. I have a 8.5" wrist, and it was just way too big even for me. Its not a joke how big and heavy it is. If it was a touch smaller, man it'd be amazing.

Omar Quintero Theres either 2 things going on here 1) you have absolutely no taste, and you think deisel-type monster watches look good. 2) you have no idea what a "proper fit" of a watch is. It's probably a mix of both lol. My wrist is massive. Not only is it 8.5" (thats WAY above the average wrist size), but my wrist is wide and flat, so watches are hard to find in a decent size ( a 38mm watch looks like a womans watch on my wrist). This watch is HUGE, it wears HUGE, and is ungodly heavy. Sorry, but I have a bit of class, and dont wear ridiculously overly large watches that is typical of young boys that think it looks good (hint : it doesnt).

Omar Quintero No, maybe when you get older, you will understand childish fashions aren't really that great. Giant watches are a fad, it will fade. Your ignorance, only time will tell.

Just sayin, the highlight of this watch is a 57600 bhp movement. Its silky smmoth and has a higher frequency than most mechanical watches out there.

The Precisionist doesn't have a sweeping second hand, it ticks 16 times per second, so the movement merely looks continuous.

Most all mechanical watches have sweeping seconds hands and tick around 6 times a second. So this precisionist ticking 16 times a second is much smoother.

Slim7321 And in all fairness we should clear up one thing. most mechanical watches do not have such high ticking rates. I have many spring driven watches that tick once a second. and I know of rolexes that tick once a min. however automatic watches do have the sweeping hand. and for the sake of this we'll call 6 ticks a second sweeping as it is a term made up for those watches. so that being said the bulova does fit the meaning sweeping hand. even though it goes above and beyond.

This should be called the camouflage watch. The hour and minute hands blend into the subdials so perfectly it is difficult to tell the time at a glance. Couldn't they have made them a different colour? These watches should be sold to opticians as part of the sight test
