She has pseudotumor cerebri, brain pressure..aggravated by overeating...if she lost weight it would help her condition...and vastly improve her attempts to dance.

This is what makes Matt better than the rest and more than just a choreographer. And you can see it in his students, he's like a big brother to them ❤

As a former plus size, I gotta tell ya. I never gave up dancing. Now I'm slimmer, but older'dirt. I STILL dance.

Not only does she have moves for weeks, that smile on her face, shows the love and happiness she has for dance. When I saw Lizzy stretching, I got a little embarrassed, realizing how out of shape I am!! I hope you book as many jobs, as YOU want, because you’ve earned it girl!!! Well done!! 🙏❤️

I was the only one to get a “B” rather than an “A” in my college intro ballet class that I took for fun. Even though I was 105 pounds, I completely lacked technique and I found out I had no memory for choreography. My nerves always got in my way even when I did remember it. So I legit admire this girl and I’m actually jealous of her. I would love to have her dancing skills.

Now I’m not a doctor but as I watch this young lady stretch, dance and move so fluidly, there is no way her weight is a result from laziness & overeating, it has to be a thyroid issue. Anyone that mocks this young lady is just jealous that they are not only unable to move the way she does but they also don’t possess one eighth of her character. Lizzy, You have amazing energy & there’s such a bright light within you that you can see it in your eyes when you smile. Don’t stop doing what you’re doing , don’t second guess yourself , keep moving forward , don’t lose your smile and more importantly…Don’t let anyone dim your light or dull or shine!!!!

As someone with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, I get so tired of people thinking morbid obesity is caused by a "thyroid issue." Hypothyroidism slows your metabolism-it doesn't stop it. You have to be careful with what you eat and exercise. If you do those things the most you will be is overweight, maybe just over the line into obesity (BMI of 30). You don't get that heavy from just hypothyroidism. You have to eat thousands of calories a day.

@@benu_bird I wasn't trying to offend you or anyone with my quick response of a thyroid issue being a possible culprit BUT it was a thought because the thyroid CAN cause weight gain. I didn't list the other culprits of weight gain because I wasn't commenting to give a diagnosis. I just made a mere mention of something other than laziness or bad eating habits because someone with her energy isn't lazy.

​@@benu_bird thank you, I was thinking the same thing. These classes must be rare or something must be going on at home. Because after a whole year, absolutely NO difference? :( It's not medical. There's no caloric deficit. And where she has it stored is very evident that she only works her lower body sometimes. Which is normal for larger bodies because they have to carry the excess weight.

If it were an uncontrolled thyroid issue, she would not be dancing like that. She would not be able to do it. At least not all the time. Which - I really don't know if she's dancing all the time or in spurts.

She is an amazing dancer and I love watching her dance.

As someone who's overweight, this girl has more strength and has to work so much harder to do what she's doing and anyone else who is trying to learn this dance. It's not just emotional, it's physical, it's hard to do, most of us that carry extra wait we don't have the flexibility, we have extra pain when we move and often times we can't do half the things that others can do. I commend this girl for following her dreams and her passion no matter her weight as unlike most people with the ideal body condition, this girl has had to work even harder to do the dance routines. She's beautiful both inside and out

True, but the truth remains that some of the pain and struggle would definitely been lessened if some of that extra weight had been lost. I don’t mean it in a derogatory or critical way, but from a purely pragmatic perspective - it would have been easier to dance and she wouldn’t be as tired if she reduced some of her food intake every day - a smaller plate perhaps, no buffets or fast food for a few months, or no snacks or soda except for a portion of fruit for a month or two, and she could be dancing for longer without getting tired easily. At the end of the day no amount of exercise can combat too much food.

@@3dprintinglady -- First, she needs a thorough endocrine work up to rule out Cushing's disease, PCOS, and other issues. Her body habitus suggests more than just simple obesity And while a decrease in total caloric intake is also important, especially if what she has is PCOS/insulin resistance, it's not like she isn't going out and burning lots of kcals with her activity. The original poster is correct - it takes more energy just to move that amount of weight around in space, so she is burning more calories per minute than a thinner person does. I am extremely impressed with her flexibility and her stamina.

Lizzy is a natural and was born to do this. I was so touched by your bond and how genuine you both are.

People like this are often shunned - or feel too judged - when they get into the studio by others to stick it out and this one proved the value of commitment and dedication. Thank you! Put the haters to shame! But also, give a glimmer of challenge to those who give up too soon - on themselves. Dropped the gauntlet, Girl. More power to you. Thank you for sharing your hope and your dream. May you experience even more success than you have already commanded. Your dreams are worth working for even if they seem far off. A year might seem like a long time, but I'm old, so I know - that year's gonna go by, whether you work hard at it or not. Only difference is, you'll be a year closer to obtaining your desire - or a year further behind. The choice is up to you. This girl proves it. My doctor said all my blood work included my cholesterol and all the rest are in his words spectacular and better than most. I took bellydancing for 8 years and I can relate to those humiliating stares and side chats. People are insufferable. They criticize because you are fluffy and then criticize your choice of fitness because you are fluffy. It takes effort to tune them out and just do what you enjoy doing!

As long as you have joint and muscle function, please don't let a thing like weight gain stop you from moving your body, even if you do it at home! Dancing to a rhythm is arguably something at the heart of what makes us human. It has an uplifting (and sometimes unifying) effect and can bring on lovely endorphins!

I’m a dancer teacher and gained three stone in medication weight and now I hate dancing coz I hate how my body feels now It’s so annoying because people on the street assume I’m unfit etc but I’m actually probably fitter than them 😂

@@kirstycooper01 You may be fitter, but you’re letting them control your emotions, which is very unhealthy. I’ve seen so many times when people assume others are looking at them or saying something about them, when it’s just not the case. We all look at each other as we go by, or stuck in a room etc, but it doesn’t mean people are judging you. Certain races start to feel the same way, they assume certain people don’t like them, or have certain feelings toward them when it’s not even the case at all. Don’t let that get in your way and ruin who you really are. Plus, don’t say you dislike your body, I work in Rehab here I see people who will never have the capacities you have , and that makes it difficult.

SO beautifully said! As someone whose inner being passions for dance (but whose day-to-day schedule doesn’t allow the time for me to dedicate myself to it), I absolutely LIVE for being witness to a person’s soul on fire whilst doing what they love with fervor and confidence. I’m fascinated by ALL types of dance; from ballet to hip hop, from tap to swing. Lizzy absolutely lights UP when she’s dancing, and it’s such a heartwarming joy to see. Props to her for refusing to let the preconceived notions of others about what a ‘real’ dancer should be keep her away from a passion that she was so clearly made for. ❤🥲

Agreed! She moves like a swan, gliding, even if there are rough seas. It’s magical to say the least! I’ve read she has health problems that affect her weight, but she dances better than most of the skinny bitches I’ve seen in the videos of high profile artists. Everyone on here is commenting on her weight, and I agree with the 10% worried about her long term health. However, I guarantee she’s healthier than most of the folks making comments! The only reason I’d like to see her lose weight (besides her health) is because she would be able to do MORE and most likely end up being one of the top dancers in the market today! I used to be a dancer, but now I’m 55 and disabled after a horrific car accident…this gives me joy watching her! ❤❤❤

I remember watching Lizzy's story and was in awe of the confidence she already had and the courage to go after her dream. A year later watching this and my heart is soaring for her! I love her spirit in the way she puts her all in the moves... she is doing something i could never do.

I danced in the early 2000's and did not fit the body image that people in the dance world wanted back then. It didn't matter that I had the passion or technique, no one could look past what my body looked like. I had dreams to dance professionally but I was constantly laughed at and reminded often that I would never work in the industry because I was too big. I stopped dancing years ago and miss it every single day. Thank you for encouraging her. I hope that she dances for many, many more years to come. I'm so happy to see that the dance world has become a more inclusive place!

Obviously if the person has a medical condition of some kind or a metabolism issue or is just too "wide" in terms of bone structure, of course you can and should! have empathy because they were discriminated against for something out of their control that prevented them from living out their dream. If the person was overweight due to just a simple diet-related issue, the criticism is justified. That this was about ACCEPTING yourself & not being afraid to do what you love without giving into societies bullshit beauty ideals - ESPECIALLY if she’s living in the hellscape that is LA. Lizzy, you’re an inspiration to so many out there that are struggling with their weight. You have not let it hold you back. You have a gift of movement and rhythm. Your smile is infectious! She deserves this and more. Lizzy is the very reason I went back to dancing. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

people bully Linnea what there jealous about or what they fear when you show strength and confidence it brings ugly out in people. I was her size in high school PE teacher would not let me play Vollyball because of my size. I would not have the stamina to play a full game. My parents had to go to school board called out body shaming on PE teacher. I got to play instead of sitting on the bleachers doing book work.

The "How can anyone bully her?" is more to say "How can anyone bully her out of their own insecurities, following blindly what everyone else does, following the current talk and whats-hot when it comes to body size and body shape when more then often theyre impossible to reach and without forming your own opinion on it, standing up for yourself and saying no to bullying?"

You don't know her personality. Most people that claim they were or are bullied are normally the bullies themselves.

I love watching Lizzy dance, she is very inspiring & has a strong message that anyone can fulfill their dream no matter what their situation is!

You go! I don't like bullies. I was bullied when I was too thin. I loved food and was trying to gain weight but couldn't. My mom put into dance classes, etc, to build up my confidence. Thank you for helping others see your awesome moves. You Rock. You dance better than some people I know. I don't know you, but I'm proud of you and your journey!!❤❤

Whatever your skin, weight, religion, gender, orientation, you name it. Whatever people wanna say about you, there are some things people can never take away from you. Kindness and dedication are two of those things you posses and they are wonderful yet rare qualities in society these days. Carry that with pride Lizzy, and nobody will be able to stop you in whatever you set your mind to.

Go Lizzy!!!! I always wanted to be a hip hop dancer! I was always told I couldnt dance. Regardless, I would practice & get the moves down. When I hit record & looked back on it, being overweight myself, I HATED how I looked. I completely gave up. I'm so happy that you did not let the bullying stop you from doing what you love. The smile on your face when you're dancing is priceless!

I‘m actually so impressed how she went from a ballet dancer to a hip-hop dancer. I danced ballet my whole child- and teenagehood and for me it‘s so fricking hard to learn hip hop or sth like this because I struggle to „let go“ and not be so stiff. She did that so well!

@@LeekowalskiWalker people can be overweight and still be healthy! i have a medical issue which causes me to put on weight easily doesnt mean im not healthy people just cant look past the size yes being OBESE can lead to issues but theres a difference between obese and overweight dont judge when you know nothing about the person

@@LeekowalskiWalker It isn't always that simple. You know nothing of their circumstances. I could say you need to learn the definition of empathy, but it would just be wasted on you. So easy for people to say whatever without thinking of the hurt they cause.

OMG Lizzy is so amazing! What flexibility, what precision in the movements, what swag! I'm so proud of her, at her age and after so much bullying, to be as confident as she *actually deserves to be* in her skills!

But that end pose was beyond fierce. I can't figure out how to quantify how much I instantly love this young woman. So excited to see more of her. Joy shines through me when I see her dance.

She can be such an inspiration to so many many others who feel they need to hide because they are not super thin, perfect on the outside does not mean perfect on the inside you are an icon girl brings tears to my eyes

She is bolt proof that no matter what you look like or what this world throws at you. You can still make it and become the individual you deserve and want to be. i'm not a dancer but her movements are really smooth and she keeps up so well with him. she has great energy and looks so happy while dancing. there's absolutely no shade meant by this, but the fact that her movements are so smooth with the extra weight is especially impressive!

I weighed 285 lbs at 15 years old.. I could do the splits better than cheerleaders at my school, I could out run everyone, I was taking tae kwon do with my brothers, I was so much like her. But ridicule is hard. Now I am 61 years old, and at 5 ft 3 in this past year I have gotten on a scale at 127 lbs. I am so happy I have followed her on her journey. You go girl!!

I'm not rhythmic at all. I've tried over the yrs (even tried out for step in college lol). But, I have learned that it's all about catching your own beat and just enjoying yourself and letting go. Had a "dance party " a couple of nights ago w the hunny and acted silly. Both us needed it and it felt AMAZING. Playlist was key hahhaha

Thus comment should be highlighted. You hit the nail on the head exactly. 👏👏👏 Lizzy is fantastic. The girl has rhythm, style, class, enthusiasm, stamina, flexibility, musicality and moves. I don’t know if she has the creativity though, we’ve only seen her copy and learn moves. But to me, everything i’ve described is what a dancer should be.

Keep it up Lizzy you're confidence RADIATES and this proves transformations aren't only about weight or looks!!

She is lovely...inside and out. She will inspire so many who have to overcome bullying to become confident in who they are. She's proving that not everyone can have a ballerina figure but everyone can be a ballerina if they want to be. Her smile is her most powerful weapon.

This gave me goosebumps, so proud for her...such a beautiful soul and so inspirational. So happy this teacher saw her potential, giving her a chance and sharing her talent with the world.

What an amazing man for giving this lady the confidence to follow her passion.She has certainly put those bullies in their place. She,s definitely a dancer. Here in the UK we had a group of elderly rotund ladies called the Roly Polies and they could dance and were quite popular.
