The aunt who raised her is such a gem. It might be a different world if more caretakers would take a few seconds each day to be loving and encouraging. Just a little bit would mean a lot. This goes for caretakers of the elderly as well.

Lizzy, you’ve already inspired so many people and your bravery shines but nothing shines like the joy that radiates from you when you’re dancing.

I'm glad she was able to come up and inspire people, more so kids your age!

Lizzy. You are so beautiful and such an inspiration to me. I have loved dance my whole life and was bullied out of it. Today I’m a 41 yr old mom of a competition dancer and watching her love her body and what she can do with it makes me cry every time I watch her dance. She doesn’t struggle with her weight like I have so her story isn’t the same.. but honey. Watching you love yourself and love your body makes me cry too. I am so proud of you. Your mom would be so proud of you. The hurt of being told we aren’t good enough to do what we love can be so deep and long lasting. I’ve taken tap classes as an adult and loved it but I was still too ashamed to try ballet again. But now. I think I will. Thank you.

I taught dance for over 25 years . Lizzy is beauty within and very talented . She would be my choice of Clara . Such cruel student s at that dance school. My school was always about desipline' dedication and desire. Then comes dance. Never quite!! Hard work, never give up . God Bless all dancers and future dancers

Good for you, Lizzy! Too many people judge a book by its cover and you are an inspiration! You have such a beautiful soul! People who are quick to judge someone based on weight, color, religion, sex, should walk a mile in that person's shoes, experience what that person is going through before they judge. I am so glad, Lizzy, that you decided to pursue your passion and dreams. I used to dance most of my time growing up. I have had my battle with weight but haven't let it stop me from being the best person I can be. To look at you and see this beautiful lady with a glowing smile doing what she has a passion for just makes me so happy for you. Keep on doing what you love to do. Life is too short to be worried about what other people think or say. That just shows how insecure they truly are.

@@baileyelaine I'm not body shaming anyone. A plus size person can dance just as well as a super skinny one, and feel happy and confident. What i'm trying to say is that dance body types exist. Seach for ballet dancers, MOST of them have nearly the same type of body, tho not everyone of course. Just like most gymnasts are short, basketball players tall, etc. That's not body shaming, is saying the truth.

I’m slightly overweight and was since I was around 9.. I used to do ballet but quit since I felt so insecure about my body and that caused me to not have fun during sessions anymore. Luckily, not many people bullied me for my size but I can sense some of them trying to hint at it. This video truly inspired me, it makes me really want to retry ballet again! Many years ago when I was a young nurse, I cared for a patient who was diagnosed with a life threatening illness. She was beautiful, petite -a young lady with a lovely personality .I admired her as she struggled through her illness to live while she remained a sweet kind positive person . All the staff worked hard to help this beautiful person survive an acute critical illness. She made it through and was placed on high doses of prednisone. ( which can cause havoc to your body) A few years later she returned very sick and was dying. I remember the disparaging remarks ,by some staff who did not know her history , concerning her physical appearance insinuating she brought her illness on . She was obese and did not look like the same person until she smiled - she was the same beautiful person . She had no control over the ravages of her disease and the effects of meds on her body. She had to live with a terminal illness , deal with the changes in her body and the ignorant perceptions of others concerning her appearance even when she was dying. No one should have to explain themselves to others. I believe most ppl are caring , as shown in this video and by those touched by this video. Sad that those lacking empathy cause so much pain for others.
