When you order armor, ALWAYS overlap. At least three inches on each side. You have to make room for burrito night.
Was holding off on this vest till I saw this video and it put me over the top! Vest is exactly as described and fits me like a good glove! Thanks for the video!
Nice product at a good price and as usual great video Mike don't think I've ever thanked you for the captions in the majority of your uploads really makes it easy to watch your vids take care and stay healthy.

Love your videos I come from a small town and we have a open out door range to shoot freely but me and my wife are new to hand guns but I love learning from your channel
I had an older version of this, but I never wore it and ended up gaining a gut so it fit funny. Gave it to a family member. Paid about the same price at a local surplus store new.
Good review. Thank you
Awesome video bud, as usual
Great video. Very informative.
Thank you for this video. I've landed a contract that I simply cant pass up in a neighborhood that I would rather not be and doing things outside that will not win me any friendships. So, I've signed up for my CC education and this vest will likely be my next purchase. Thanks again for your channel, videos, & knowledge & education.
Great review
AWESOME thank you!!!
I like this stuff...realistic for most common threats and probably pretty comfy. And 12G micro slug? Learn somethin new from Mike each time 👍🤟🇺🇸
This is on my “to buy” list. There are just a few more guns in front of it.
They also have hard panel insert options.
I just received mine I love it fits amazing super lightweight for my security work which I patrol for hours on ! Only thing is it doesn’t cover enough of the abdomen but hey I ain’t complaining it covers all my vitals and for the price you can’t beat it! I definitely would recommend buying this!

Would love to see you try the "American 180" test - Try shooting a piece of quality kevlar in the same place repeatedly with .22 LR to determine how many shots it takes to go through. People talk about enough bullets in one place chewing a hole but I have my doubts about the practical reality of how many rounds it would actually take. Might not be a very interesting video without an actual American 180 but what's the harm in dreaming!
Excellent video excellent vest

Anyway we could see a “Best Body Armor Value” Test? Something on the line of what ready to go systems, actually available that provide the best bang for the buck on top of stopping rounds? Thanks for all the hard work and great videos, much appreciated.

Just ordered one after watching. I’ve got another vest with plates that was two times the price for the same rating probably more with side plates. Thanks for the review.
Materials science has come a long way and I look forward to seeing where it will go.
great vid
I like these videos 🇺🇸
I have one n now I seen this video, awesome
I ordered one to go under my plate carrier. I opted for only a base coat on the plates because I have level ll soft panels to go in front of them. I know that the vest itself holds plates, but it doesn't hold the 6x8 side plates. Just wanted a little more.
I would have liked to have seen if the rounds that penetrated the vest hit the gel blocks and if they did what they did to the gel.
Thanks for the video, never considered body armor until 2020, was wondering how this one would do as I have weaponlights that cost more 😬

What sucks for a lot of people that never applied for their FOID card.Three month's ago over 300K applied in IL alone.Anyone that wants their FOID card will be getting a letter indicating 1 1/2 year wait. ”MULTIPLE MILITARY-BRANCH”, “MULTIPLE WAR-ERA”, “HYBRID-VETERAN” This is a good “standard product”. The proliferation of body armor on the civilian market underscores the need to practice groin shots in conjunction with center mass drills.

Were you using low velocity rounds or standard I seen another review where a c9 9mm went through but that was after the vest had been shot several times
Love your shirt!!! America!
Oh man that shot from the UMP while fully protected of course would drop you like a sack o taters! Right in the solar plexus OOOOF!
The beard looks great and seems like some good armor
That’s the same exact one I had when I was a security officer
I wanted can you do a review for a rts tactical vest it's supposed to level 3 with metal plates on the inside of the vest also
I'm hoping to ask you a question and get your opinion. I'm looking into purchasing BMC upper and lower also looking at Midwest Industries I read some positive reviews on the Centurion barrels they use. No info on BCM barrels. I'm looking for a long-lasting GTW type of AR just in case. I've seen your videos on complete BCM rifles but can't find anything on Midwest Industries rifles I would truly appreciate your opinion on both and if you have a third option in that price range please throw that in there also. Thank you for your videos and you're hard work it's truly appreciated.
I'm curious this seems to be very similar to safelifes vest. Which I believe you also reviewed. Any preferences? The safe life 3a vest is 200 bucks more.
You should check out safe life defense it a good vest, not as cheap as that but affordable enough for an EMT to buy.
that's some 1990s level of soft body armor design right there
How about the Longfri iiia concealable vest on Botach, only $250
Bullet Safe UHMWPE vest is effective and budget friendly. The only negative review I've seen is from "free field training" channel who was biased against it from the start and seems to be a paid schill for Safelife Defense. Thanks for the unbiased review. Spending hundreds more doesn't mean it's going to be better.
Some 'special threats' like Tokarev or 5.7 could be interesting, thanks for the video!

Problem with the 5.7 test are people often get some anemic factory rounds instead of milspec or similar Elite brand ammo and are like, "WOW, it stopped it!" like firing a 40&W and thinking it's a 10mm.

Can you try a “bulletproofme.com” ultra thin concealable armor
Hey Mike, when it comes to polyethylene armor it seems most manufacturers say they have a shelf life of 5 years. Does that mean after 5 years all polyethlene armor, both soft and hard, no longer work at all or is it that they just don't work as well as if they were new and can still stop a round, but are no longer multi hit capable? I've been looking at AR500 Lvl III plates that use polyethlene because they're light, but the 5 year shelf life compared to 20 years for steel has me concerned that it's not worth the extra cost if it's something that doesn't last.
@squintskating379
2 жыл бұрын
late reply, but the expiration dates are just due to materials starting to break down. most good quality armor companies products will supersede those expirations. specifically ceramic plates if stored in relatively stable conditions. just inspect your gear regularly. if you believe something may be compromised reach out to the company for their opinion.
@DickTickles
2 жыл бұрын
@@squintskating379 Good advice, contacting the manufacturer is never a bad idea, but I wouldn't know the first thing about what might make armor compromised other than maybe soft plates that after so many years are no longer flexible.
I had one for 3 years before I got rid off it, it feels pretty high quality and durable
How did that case make out?
Hello to whom it may concern I'm interested in your opinion on the level 3A T-shirt that they're selling on eBay It would be nice if you could do a video on them

Why didn't you use 125 grain fmj with the 357? That is a bigger threat generally speaking than slower 158 grain stuff.

What 14inch mossberg shotgun was that
is it still bullet proof without plates ?
Would doubling L3A plates be worth it or just go to L4?
@paddlesailnitro1
3 жыл бұрын
lgs says level 3 plate(not 3a) with a 3a vest equals a level 4. Doubling 3a plates won't stop a rifle round. Level 3 is good for your smaller rifle calibers.This vest is light and comfortable., my wife claimed it, and we're in our 60's. You can put a lvl 3 or 4 in it.I have their 3a plates as well for my vest, and they're real light. I'd recommend the vest and a lvl 3 plate if you want to stop rifle rounds, and remove the plate if you want more mobility.
