I dont think I've ever seen such knowledge of shmups represented on youtube. You guys are a one of a kind channel.. I still have yet to pick this version of DDPres up though.

How far removed from the negative nellies of the first 20 "vlogs". I agree though, while maintaining a reasonable and digestible size/format. You still manage to explain and provide detailed yet understandable explanations of the various systems present in the games.

Who would have thought the composer for ketsupachi also made soundtracks for shovel knight, shantae and contra ds?

I’m going to Tokyo in January, will try to get Saturn versions of DP and DDP from Super Potato. This is on my steam wishlist. Great review.

Thanks for all the info! I learned a lot that I never gathered from playing -- I get to play DoDonPachi every once in a while and was planning on picking it up. The PC version is on sale on Steam until January 2nd! Costs about as much as I'd typically plunk into continues :P

The same goes for MushiFutari; simply incredible backdrops, but they get lost in the shots a lot of the time.

I quintuple dipped on this one. I, too, like it a lot.

By the way, Ketsui is canon in the lore of the DonPachi series. This is proven with the iOS exclusive DoDonPachi Maximum where it was revealed that the enemies you fought throughout the series are developed by EVAC Industry, the same antagonist company behind the events of Ketsui. This comment can be considered as a fun fact.

While I already own the 360 version, the Ketsuipachi addition might be too sweet for me to pass up on. I still hope that we will one day get Daioujou as well. It's the only one in the series I have yet to play.

DaiOuJou is neat, but I always felt it was just a little incomplete with it having only two ships. We may take a look at DaiOuJou in the future, depending on how our random selection engine is feeling.

Hey, finally Episode 159; thank you :) But isn´t the speed only affected by the Ship-Type you choose ? Type A is the fastest, Type B in the middle, Type C is the slowest. The Style you choose doesn´t have an effect on your ships movement-speed; well, only Power Style does affect the movement-speed somewhat when you switch between Normal (faster movement-weaker firepower) and Boost (slower movement-speed-higher firepower) during the game.

Civarello 77 now that you bring it up think there could be very slight differences, but it's not as noticeable as in SDOJ.

So any news on any other Cave games coming to Steam? I hope they bring Mushihimesama Futari and Espgaluda 2 over.

I remember playing this on my iphone a while back but i remember being able to activate the yellow shots but then being able to aim the shots at any direction and if you spin it like crazy in a circular motion enough times you charge the ship and shoot a massive shot that covers practically the entire screen!!! Is that in this steam version??? Great work on the videos tho u guys are awesome n if you can look into SORA on steam that game is pretty unique for a shmup keep up the good work!!

That feature would have ruled in the steam/360 version of DDP Res, but it's only in the now lost mobile version. Sora has been on our watch list for a while now. I guess it's time to grab a copy.

The term "Black Label" is often used in many different product types to denote the top-of-the-line product series that a company produces. I'm happy to read that you're enjoying our videos!

Never heard of this series, but it looks really fun However I don't think I would like having a third of the screen be taken over by the hud

Be nice if Cave world bring there there Steam enhanced versions to PlayStation 4, ideally in physical form but I will get this on the Xbox 360 soon!

Agreed. It was nice to get Ketsui on PS3, so Cave on Playstation can't possibly be a total impossibility.

it is the third game that they released on steam. all soundtracks are availble as well. there is the arranged one for DDP original missing only.

The controls in the iOS version definitely give the player an almost unfair edge, and it won't really train you for the traditional versions as found on Xbox 360 and Steam. Despite this, I found the mobile versions to be quite fun.

It was thanks to your channel that I was introduced to a lot of shmups. In hindsight, you should have released the Ginga Force review before leaving so that your departure will be on a positive note. Black Label is a term used in to denote upper range products, wbich makes sense as these games would be made for players looking for a more intense game. Stuff like Blue Label also existed, which was usually applied to a special festival version.

That's an excellent buy. Deathsmiles is solid, DDP Resurrection is my favorite in the series and Mushi Arrange is great.👍

@@StudioMudprints i took the bait, cleared all 3games . so far mushi is my favorite, beating the true last boss on ultra is no joke, think a 1 cc is a far off goal, but even a casual like me was getting into flow state on maniac and arange. thanks for the content, btw u ever play tyrion ?the old dos freeware game

All are available in North America but maybe not on Xbox. There's a chance they are Japan/Europe only. But I'm pretty sure you can DL them all over here.
