@@theoneeyedmilkman1517 I was making full song cover of Say goodnight and discovered that triangle waves with little bit of sine wave and distortion blends worked best.

Also, question about NTM contest. Is the goal to re-create the original track as close as possible or make it you own and make it as cool as you wish?

Those stems are really cool! And i think i know what this "cock" mic from the drums is 😅 it's pretty close to the kit (between toms, base drum and snare) and got a lot of body so when you compress the living shit outa this, it might add some cool sort of "dirt" to the drums.. but it will also just be a long and fat wave form ... there are so many names for that, but i guess "cock" is legit 🤔

Why does the snare at 6:40 sound like it was done as a midi sample? Tbh the snare doesn't sound that great at all, it sounds incredibly loose and something that shouldn't be used in either rock or metal

More people should follow in the steps of BFMV's recording process. I can't tell you how much easier it is on the engineer to mix when you have a band that knows their shit and the kicks don't sound like fucking overheads. get a recording engineer to sit and test mic levels and positioning until you get it right. mixing is a nightmare when there's a ton of bleed and the mic quality is garbage.

Those lyrics? You could not know this song and predict what they’re going to say in a fingers down the blackboard way. Anyways apart from that this sounds like some seriously well executed material, you would need to be trying to fuck this up to make it sound bad, balancing the faders sans DI tracks and putting a mastering plugin over the 2bus would get you a good mix!

To be honest Bfmv's two latest songs from their upcoming album has the worst production they have ever had on an album. Can tell that they used a much lower budget. Fever has by far the best production of their albums. Would have loved to see the mixing of that record instead of this shit. Obviously Chris-Lord Alge's mix will be better than Carl Brown's...

Music Rockz Fever had terrible volume levels though throughout the record. Probably a mastering thing I think but your betrayal & the last fight are both noticeably louder than the rest of the record. Go from those to listening to A place where you belong...which is an awesome song but lacks some punch.

Yeah just listening to their two new songs now and the production is definitely pretty bad. Just the drums, I hate that type of boomy kick and the snare sounds so thin and lacks so much body and power. Crazy because the raw drums sound really well recorded in this.

Music Rockz To me their best sounding records are the first two, fever is a bit unbalanced, and venom and this new songs have a weird drum and guitar sound, I don't like it very much.
