Few years ago I attended my muslim friend's ijab kabul. One thing that surprised me was the woman (my friend) didnt have to say anything. she didnt make any vow. so the next time she came back to work I teased her "you didnt make any promises to your husband, so you're free to leave him anytime" LOL. of course that's not true, I was only teasing n kidding with her. btw, what the groom was saying in islamic wedding was “I accept marrying ............ with the mahr agreed upon.” something like that.

Gak usah, adat dan adab Indonesia kalau dibawa keluar negeri itu masih terpakai. Lagipula konsep "dimana tanah dipijak, dimana langit dijunjung" juga bisa dipakai di negara lain. Kita punya konsep "malu bertanya sesat dijalan". Jadi kalau mau tahu2 soal boleh gak boleh itu cukup tanya pas disana saja. Btw kita pasti bisa mikir yang boleh dan tidak boleh. Masalahnya budaya Indonesia itu sangat mengutamakan kepentingan umum. Jadi yang harus dilakuain pas mau ke amerika dan australia adalah "bawa Indomie+sambal sebanyak mungkin". Biar bisa makan enak dan halal

In Central Jawa, we have tradition to throw coins in Javanese wedding and Javanese funeral ceremony, before the dead body brought to be burried. I remember when my granpa died, my family did this. However, I havent seen this recently. Maybe Javanese people still practice it in old villages in remote area of Java island.
