Biggest mistake of my life was selling my HQ after spending 2years of my life building it. Brings back really fond memories watching your build.
*Sam Eyles has uploaded* Yes *built not bought* Yes! *hq first drive* YES!
Oh wow your brother sounds just like you in the opening sequence 😂
Hey Sam, Just something I did t my Tonner that was quite easy, you guys were talking drop tanks, but if your looking for an easy way to get more fuel capacity, a second OEM tank will fit on the opposite side with just a filler neck entry change, the rest bolts in & you have doubled your fuel capacity. Just thought I'd pass that one on. Love your channel, keep up the good work!! Cheers Steve Northern Rivers NSW
11.54, the look of hell yeah I just built this shit. Love your work boys, brings back memories of my first resto when i was 18.
In my late 20s I restored a HQ sedan. It was so cool. I loved it. Lovely to see such a gorgeous build.
I’ve always liked 1 tonners but I think I’m gonna start saving and get one and build it to become a beast
Yesssss matee omg I love it when you really give it to it that’s gonna sound absolutely amazing
My dad had a HQ back in his mullet days and it was good to see what they are actually like. Keep it up 👍

Like. She's a beast. Well done guys
Top job . Always great viewing.
Please keep these videos coming dude
congrats to your brother mate would be an awesome feeling
In my opinion the best Looking Holden is a HG and HQ. HQ being the best looking Holden ever made. As much as i love style side Utes can never go wrong with a HQ One tonner
Sounds good and looking sweet
Consider the time your engine runs whilst vehicle stationary before this bedding the rings under load. The rings are going to bed during cam run in, more in a moment. The hone is not supposed to cut the ring, consider cast iron rings as opposed to moly etc, still going to cut? hmmm. All engines wear in mating componentry, that's why you do an early oil change to remove microscopic particulates or other contaminant ingress from assemnly. Mating will wear down high surface contact until median reached whereby lubrication then enables minimal wear over extended period i.e. years. This equates to fractions of a micron, if it's thousands then Huston you got a problem. On initial start up motor should immediately be run up to 3000 rpm for 20 mins to harden the lobes on the cam hence not grinding lobe off from binding on lifter. Good to see you checked ring gap but the oil ring carrier backing ring goes on piston a given direction. That secret is old school & you wont find it in a book. Good job though lads, nice to see these older utes back on the road where they should be. Cheers
First run drives end up in failing brakes almost everytime in my experience .. 😅

@@speyles I did it with mine before I sold it for some silly reason.... it was a warm 350 and I just ran a balance pipe about 4 to 6 inches after the collectors on the extractors.. also looks sick when it's a cold morning and the lumpy idle would pump the steam out 🤙🤙🤙
Steering Controls !!!
i wish i could put my caprices ls2 into a hq the hq is my dream car
Go 3 inch, stainless exhaust, drop tank, looks better with drop and sounds better with 3 inch, just my opinion on the car

the tank sits right behind the cab why the F would you drop the tank, it's a 1 tonner mate, not a car hahaha 😂😂
Mu uncle built one with only the frame to work with he finished it after five years of working on it and painting with the original engine which is a v8
i cant believe he lives just around the corner from me, thats crazy

how great would that be not
what engine is in her
How much does your patrol weigh
For a naturally aspirated engine, you gonna want a 2.5 inch exhaust, it creates the best performance. Any bigger and the exhaust back pressure is too low and you lose torque. Though 3 inch'll sound better
Who’s Ute is it
Hey Sam i'd love to see you and Jeff "Home Built By Jeff" do a collaboration or at least a visit.
you can use the it in floods the
Sounds like my land rover
That's a wicked build. Did he build the centre console himself or is that custom made by someone? Keep up the great work and hope to see more on this.

Its a manual 🙄
So much room under the bonnet - you could fit a spare donk in there and still shut the bonnet.
Who is the guy in yellow
why didn’t you put a built auto in it
